Kudos to Indiana
and Illinois OHV recreationists.
"NO
riding, Just cleaning up today". With high hopes
the volunteers pledge, time, effort and vehicles.
They supported the clean up, of future legal riding
areas in Indiana. March of 2003 is the tentative
opening at Dugger. Indiana DNR Nyra Armstrong reinforced,
the area is still officially closed. Dugger is closed
to all Off Highway Vehicles.
Saturday
road side cleanup at Dugger, Indiana was successful.
Volunteers of many OHV user groups, moved mountains
of trash. Many of the clubs members and DNR officers,
helped clean the roadside debris. Two large rolloff
containers, were filled full by volunteers. Pollution
of household items and construction waste, dumped
by careless polluters. Bagged by hand and machine.
Volunteers used two skid-steers and several Jeep
vehicles and pickups with trailers. To remove bed
frames and bags of trash. Tires were discarded the
DNR managed the proper disposal of items at local
transfer stations. Clouds hampered the GPS mapping
of trail areas.
If you see polluters of public lands. Report them
to the your local Department of Natural Resources
office. Thank you for creating a positive image
today. Our efforts will soon pay off, in safer and
legal recreational areas for our user groups.
