HomeArticles › Touring the Desoto National Forest

Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Wednesday, April 24 – 28, 2002

Desoto National ForestAbout four years ago, Bev & I had the pleasure of four wheeling the Desoto National Forest just outside of Hattiesburg. The trails were so diversified that no matter what your pleasure was, the area had it. When Glen (the local Polaris dealer) found out we had an interest in coming back, he was ecstatic. He assured me that they would do everything feasibly possible to make this a tour to be remembered for a long long time.

As usual, our lodging and our meals are the best that we could find. The one bummer of this tour is that we do have to trailer each day to the trailhead. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either. This adventure starts with a 3 PM check in on Wednesday. Sociable at 5 PM with an included dinner at 6 PM. During dinner is when we’ll cross the T’s & dot the I’s. I want to reiterate what Brenda (our last tour) said. The first meal together was deathly silent. Breakfast time was a lot different. Our last meal together as a group was so noisy that management had to ask us to cool it. That is called camaraderie.

Each day starts with a 7:30 breakfast & be ready to trailer at 8:30. We’ll ride each day until 4/4:30. Our evening dinner each night will be at 7 PM. We will divide into riding groups of 12/14 machines. Naturally each group will have their own personal guide. If you should decide to change groups the next day, no problem. This should be an ideal time of year. I don’t think I would care to ride down here in August. The locals can handle that weather, but not us Yankees.

Tour Cost = $452 Per Person. If You Desire Single Occupancy, Add 35%. A Deposit Of $150 Per Person Is Required To Hold Your Reservation. The Balance Is Due April 10th.

The Quoted Price Includes Four Nights Lodging, Four Evening Dinners, Three Breakfasts, Guide Fees, Keepsake Nametags, Logo T Shirt, Logo Baseball Cap, & All Related Taxes & Food Gratuities.

I’m Sorry, But There Are NO Rentals Available In This Area.
