The newly added off road show, 1st Annual SoCal Dirt and Sand Expo, was a big hit. For a
new kid on the block, this venue and this particular
show had great attendance and was packed full of
vendors. Though the show had somewhat small
floor space, over other shows by the promoter, they
stated that since it was the first ever for this
venue, they wanted to fill the area. With the
over whelming success of the show, the promoters promised
the show would be at least double its size if
not triple next year. They also have a show, the
Arizona Sand Expo in December on the
8th though the 10th. Which last year’s
event was a huge success. So, if you are an off-roader, these shows are a must see,
with plenty
of show quality machines, sandrails, desert race
trucks, ATV’s, and Dirt Bikes to boot.
The boys at Beard Seat had a nice display of
Rhino wears. Seat covers for OEM style seats or their
ultra trick race seats with a 5 point harness
system. They have some real nice and high
quality products, as well as steering wheel kits
for your Rhino
A family run business, R.I.S. Design, has a huge product
line, offering ATV billet accessories to a large
line of billet street bike accessories. They are
the originator of the billet Banshee grill that
was sold by Cascade and others for years. They
where at the show to debut there new line of
billet parts for the Yamaha Rhino. They also had
some of the most beautiful display bikes at the entire show. So much chrome it could
nearly blind a man. So, if you are in the market
of some killer billet parts, give R.I.S. a call.
Cruising the rows and rows of vehicles, we
stopped at the
Fab Tech display. They had some
really impressive truck shocks, and they offer tons
of upgrades for your pickup, like lift kits,
bumpers, skid plates, and fender kits. But, their
new line of Rhino accessories were a surprising
addition to see. The whole Rhino
thing has blown up; even the truck guys are
getting into it. We have also seen off road
teams using the Rhinos down in Mexico racing
SCORE, being used as pit and tow vehicles for
the big trucks. We guess it is a great new
market for some of these truck and buggy
companies to get into.
Then there are companies like RUV Motorsports
that deal strictly with Rhinos. No ATVs, no trucks,
just Rhinos! They had some really tricked out
Rhinos at the show. One on display was getting
the attention of all the ladies. It sported a
custom pink paint job and looked like it came
straight from Barbie’s playhouse. With a stereo,
and some amps along with a big woofer set up in the back,
this machine is ready for
Pismo.
A local race shop that carries
all sort of ATV hop up parts, Triumph Motorsports, located
just off 15 Fwy in Southern
California, graced the floor. They brought down there display bikes and
a few sales reps. to inform the locals where
they could get there hard to find parts.
Works Performance and there helpful staff
where also there to answer questions on suspension and
setups. They where there to display their
new Rhino parts line too. Debuting there new
large body shock line, which features Dual rate
springs and piggyback or dual line reservoir set
up. Works performance also had a really trick
dirt bike with a custom made suspension. Works
Performance specializes in making shocks for just about any
ATV, Motorcycle, UTV, or Golf Cart. They can
cater to any off roaders needs.
In close, if you get a chance to make it out to one of
these great shows, we are sure you wont be
disappointed. Not only is it a good chance to
take the family out, but a great way to get a
good head
start on picking out what you
want for
Christmas.
