Association) Southern ATV
Clubs: Alabama Edition
There are a quite a few ATV clubs in the
Heart of Dixie. Most of them are doing great
things for their state and community. Sometimes
the folks in the southern part of our fine
country are overlooked, so I will shine a light
on the ones that I could find information on
concerning their group or organization.
North Alabama
Shoals ATV Riders, Inc. (www.shoalsatvriders.com) is established in Muscle Shoals, AL. They
offer at least one organized ride per month.
This group rides for fun and fund. Fund raising
is a passion for this group. The Shoals Riders
make contributions to numerous groups such as
the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Wish I Could
Foundation. They make local rides as well as
ride in a few distant locations. They, in part
with the Cheaha Trail Riders, hold an annual
event to raise a few bucks for the Make-A-Wish
Foundation. This year the ride will be held on
November 4 at the all-new Minooka Off-road Park
in Chilton County, AL. E-mail the Shoals Riders
at officers@shoalsatvriders.com.
North Alabama Trail Riders Assoc. (www.natra.dirtrider.net) is an ATV and motorcycle organization based in
Huntsville, AL. NATRA is a family-oriented club
dedicated to riding and having fun. They are
heavily involved in dirt bikes, but don’t mind
breaking out the quads from time to time. For
more information contact NATRA
wintrak@hiwaay.net.
The BamaBoggers (www.bamaboggers.com)
headquarters is in Decatur, AL. Their motto says
it all, “Mud, Ruts, & Guts." They are extreme
mud boggers serving the Deep South. The
BamaBoggers attend events such as MudMania,
Marengo Swamp Ride, and the Mud Nationals. For
more information concerning the BamaBoggers
e-mail:
caseylee@bamaboggers.com.
Central Alabama
Cheaha Trail Riders (www.cheahatrailriders.com)
is located in Munford, AL and was established in
1988. Every since the beginning of this
outstanding group, they have devoted a lot of
hours to aid in developing and maintaining
off-road riding areas in the state such as
Kentuck ORV Park in the Talladega National
Forest and the all new Minooka OHV Park in
Chilton County, AL. CTR, in part with the Shoals
ATV Riders, has hosted the annual Make-A-Wish
charity ride that usually has been held at
Kentuck. This year it will be held at Minooka on
November 4. To find out more e-mail
gmyers.nohvcc@juno.com.
MudandDirt (www.mudanddirt.com) is located in
Birmingham and Mobile. MudandDirt gets heavily
involved in mud, trails, and quad racing. These
folks are serious about quads and motorcycles.
Don't take my word for it. Check them out on
their website. If there is an event with mud,
then you can bet MudandDirt will probably be
attending. For more information concerning MaD,
John@MUDandDIRT.com.
South Alabama
Southern Ridge ATV Club (www.southernridgeatvtrails.com)
is based in the Dozier, Al area. This club is a
family-oriented organization that has no annual
dues or fees. Southern Ridge ATV Club, sponsors
of Southern Ridge ATV Trails, Inc., provides
trail patrol and volunteer work days to maintain
the trails. This is an off-road park that
provide all types of terrain. For more
information about the club or park email:
info@southernridgeatvtrails.com.
Alabama provides all types of ATV groups and
organizations that all have the same goal in
mind--FUN. Contact your local group for more
information about joining or just give them a
“test ride” before you commit to one. If your
club is not in the article, just inform ATV
SOURCE about your club; and they will submit it
on their list of clubs from state to state.
Check out the next edition of “Southern ATV
Clubs” to see what state I will stop at next!
