Technologies Has Roots in Family and Personal
Passion
Ed Teixeira is the patriarch of Teixeira
Technologies, Tracy, California. The company is
known for manufacturing ATV suspension. The
company opened in 2003. But it was Ed's passion
for ATVs as a motocross and off- road racer for
13 years that actually gives the business life.
You see, Ed also fabricated a-arms in 2001, two
years before the business actually opened.
TheTeixeira family is involved, too. So it truly
means something that the business carries the
family name.
The company has concentrated on ATV
suspensions from the moment it first opened its
doors. Its first year Teixeira Technologies
offered long shock a-arms and anti-vibe steering
stems. Today, the company continues to offer
long shock a-arms and anti-vibe steering stems
and has added swing arms to its list of
products. "We offer all of these products for
both adult size ATVs and pee wee sized ATVs,"
said Ed. Products fit the Yamaha YFZ 450; the
Kawasaki KFX 400 and KFX80; the Suzuki Z400 and
LT80; the Honda 400EX, TRX 250R and TRX 90; and
Cannondale.
The long travel a-arms are built of 100
percent tough 4130 chromoly and are precision
tig-welded. All a-arm kits are complete with tie
rods, ball joints, and bushings. A-arms are also
completely camber and caster adjustable. A-arms
are +2.5 per side with a wheel base adjustment
from +1/2-inch forward to +1-inch forward.

KFX 80 Long Travel A-Arm |
Recently Teixeira Technologies introduced pee
wee long travel suspension products for the
Kawasaki KFX80 and Suzuki LT80. The long travel
front suspension package is Tig welded using
chromoly tubing in a precision built jig.
Priced at $399.95, the long travel front
suspension is 3-1/2-inches wide per side and
+1-inch forward for improved handling and
stability. There is 6-inches of travel with
11-7/8-inches shock, which is three times over
stock travel. The delrin pivot bushings are wear
resistant and have stainless steel pivot
sleeves.
The housing plates gives the ability to
adjust the bearing carrier for chain tension and
still retain the skid plate. This assures that
there are no more loose chains due to sprocket
changes or worn out chains. With a starting
price of $129.95, the long travel rear
suspension has a 1-1/4-inch longer wheel base
for improved handling and stability and offers
5-inches of travel with 12-1/2-inch shock.
The products are sold by ATV based companies
such as CT Racing and APR.
Teixeira Technologies also sells products via
the internet using e-mail. "But we are getting
ready to implement an online store with a
shopping cart, and we also accept phone and fax
orders," said Ed.

Teixeira Technologies determine what
manufacturer's ATVs to make product for by
identifying the most popular ATVs and
determining if there might be a void in the
market. Ed noted that manufacturers do not
cooperate with Teixeira Technologies in the
manufacturing of products. "We use the ATVs from
sponsored riders or friends who have faith in us
and believe in our technology and experience,"
said Ed. He added that the company does not have
any special agreements with ATV manufacturers.
However, the company does make private label
products for other companies in the industry, Ed
added.
The company has a research and development
department that uses a few select sponsored
racers to help develop new products. "By using
area racers to put new products through a
rigorous testing and durability abuse, we can
get our products out to the consumer at a much
quicker rate," said Ed. Sponsored racers are
also used for promotional exposure and product
feedback.
Teixeira sponsors about 12 racers with
experience in MX to desert and supermoto and who
are beginners to pros. The team includes pro
Jason Anderson, who finished in second place in
the NASMOTO AMA Supermoto; Jason Sparks; Bubba
Hustead; Derek McCabe; and Max Messina. Teixeira
racers have participated in the Desert Terrible
Town 250, the Best in the Desert 2005 Silver
State Series, Le Pismo Dunes Endurance Beach
Race at Oceano Dunes, the Best in the Desert
Vegas 200, the Best in the Desert Baja Mex 300,
and the KTM Parker 250. In all races, the racing
team rode ATVs built by Ed.
