BENICIA, CA (April 6) – The country’s largest
and fastest growing retailer of motorcycle
apparel and accessories joined forces with local
off-road groups and presented a $10,000 dollar
check to a national trail recreation group to
promote and protect responsible off-road access
to public lands. Cycle Gear and AMA District 36
made the donation to the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC)
at the company’s headquarters in Benicia,
California.
The check symbolized Cycle Gear’s total
amount of matching funds that it will donate in
2007 to the BRC via its Trail Access Fund. This
is the 4rd year in a row where Cycle Gear
matches, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 per
annum club and rider donations to the Fund.
Dave Bertram, off-road legend and CEO of
Cycle Gear, states, “This check presentation
shows our continued strong support of the
BlueRibbon Coalition’s efforts to successfully
champion our rights to access public lands in a
responsible manner. It also highlights our
efforts to partner with off-road organizations
such as AMA District 36 and the TimeKeepers
Motorcycle Club who have taken advantage of our
Trail Fund Program for 2007.”
Dave Pickett, president of AMA Dist. 36,
said, “Programs such as this will continue to
grow in importance as the popularity of off-road
recreation continues to increase. With that
increase comes many challenges and this
collaborative effort will help keep the sport
going for generations to come.”
Don Amador, western representative for the
BlueRibbon Coalition, said, “I know riders
appreciate seeing off-road businesses work with
local user groups to help promote and protect
off-highway vehicle recreation. Cycle Gear has
been a leader in that regard and it’s great to
have them as part of our access team.”
