Clubs: Florida Edition
The Sunshine State offers the most
diversified clubs in the South, from sand
carving duners to deep mud boggers. Come with me
to Florida where the weather is always perfect,
the trails are always a blast, and the folks are
loaded with some great southern hospitality!
Here are few that I found on the web:
ATVMiaXtreme (www.atvmiaxtreme.com) is a
group of ATV enthusiasts from the southern
portion of Florida. It is striving to become the
largest ATV club in south Florida with safety
promotion in mind. With over 900 folks on its
forum members’ list, they are not playin’
around! Check ATVMiaXtreme out on the web for
more information.
Edgewater Quads (www.edgewaterquads.com) is
based in the Edgewater/New Smyrna Beach area. It
is a group of friends that rides all types of
ATVs. Edgewater Quads rides almost every week at
Scottsmoor-Oak Hill and makes road trips to
Ocala. The members also do a lil’ racing from
time to time. Everyone is welcome no matter the
type of ATV. For more information on Edgewater
Quads, contact Casey
casey@edgewaterquads.com.
Muddy Waters ATV Association (www.muddywatersatv.org)
is headquartered in Osteen, Florida. It is a
family-oriented club that promotes safety and
preserves the recreation of ATVing. Muddy Waters
ATV enjoys . . . well, MUD. With over 240
strong, they know how to have fun. Check out
their events page. It is loaded with rides and
events. Contact them at
muddywatersatv@yahoo.com.
Southern Knights ATV Club (www.southernknightsatv.com)
is a group of ATV lovers founded in the Grant
area. They welcome all to join in on the fun. I
looked on their web calendar, and they stay busy
with club and community events. Don’t just take
my word for it. Check them out yourself or
contact them:
Chrishayness@bellsouth.net.
The Dirty Girls (www.thedirtygirls.net) Okay
ladies, this club is for you. Although they do
accept guys, this group has quite a few women
that like to get down and dirty. Based in
Geneva, Florida, The Dirty Girls enjoy camping
and riding. They ride locally and also do local
events and might race here and there, too. Don’t
be afraid to ask for more information by
emailing The Dirty
atvgirl@thedirtygirls.net.
ATVFlorida.com (www.atvflorida.com) is an
Internet group that is dedicated to bringing
folks in Florida together for a common
cause--quads. There is a lot of information
about great places to ride in the state. You can
also share useful information in the forums
section with other ATVers.
As you can see, Florida has some of the best
ATV clubs in the South. If you are ever in the
Sunshine State, bring your quad and hit the
trails with these fine folks. If your group is
not listed in this article, contact
atvsource.com, and ask them to add your club or
association to their clubs list. Be sure to set
up a website for your organization. It’s the
cheapest and most efficient way to share
information about your group with thousands of
others with the same thing in mind. ATV clubs
are growing stronger each day, and through
groups like these, the voice of ATV enthusiasts
is louder and stronger. If you are not a member
of a group or club, you can find a club in your
state by visiting
www.atvsource.com/clubs/index.htm
or the National Off Highway Vehicle Conservation
Council’s website at
www.nohvcc.org. Remember to
tread lightly and preserve the trails for the
next generation to enjoy!
