A Look at
the Daniel Boone Trailblazers ATV Club

Stream crossings are not an uncommon
sight on the Daniel Boone Trails. |
The Daniel Boone Trailblazers ATV Club was
formed in the summer of 2006. Based in Leslie
County, Kentucky, the membership not only
includes local ATVers, but ATVers from several
different states. The home riding area is
located in the newly-established Daniel Boone
Trail System that is also in Leslie County,
Kentucky. With the goal of promoting safe,
recreational ATV riding as well as contributing
to the upkeep of the Daniel Boone Trail system,
the Trailblazers also proudly volunteer in the
upkeep of the Redbird Crest Trail System of
segments 1 through 7, a range of 78 miles. The
Trailblazers have proudly blazed a trail for
other ATV Clubs by being the 1st ATV Club to
partner with the U.S. Forestry Service, Daniel
Boone National Forest in efforts of safeguarding
safe, recreational OHV riding.
Whether it is taking a group of 2 to 200 on
scenic tours of the beautiful landscape or
taking a group to view the wonderful, friendly
wild elk that graze the trail system, The
Trailblazers offer FREE guide services to all
tourists as well as playing host to the visitors
of the Willie Begley RV Park/Campground which is
located at the entrance of Daniel Boone Trails.
The Daniel Boone Trails is open year round,
24 hours a day. The Kenneth R. Witt Trailhead
building houses ladies’ and men’s bathrooms and
showers with a friendly staff on hand to meet
every need, including even the muddy packs of
Trailblazers and tourists who go on nigh rides
every weekend. The Trailblazers do not want to
forget to mention that the motto of the club is
“IN MUD WE TRUST.”

Flora and fauna are not the only things
you can see on these trails. The elk are
plentiful. |
There are three levels of riding trails
available in this riding area that include easy,
intermediate, and extreme. The Trailblazers are
there, however, whether they are riding with
other club members, taking a group on a tour, or
just sitting on the plateau watching the herd of
elk graze.
