Places to
Ride: Crow Canyon Riding Park - Uhrichsville,
Ohio

Some of the many trails available at
Crow Canyon |
Few animals have as ominous a reputation as
the crow. Literary and fanciful representations
depict the bird as a harbinger of doom. However,
don’t let the name, Crow Canyon, fool you into
thinking that this place is a jaded crevice in
the ground that’s ready to gorge on your quad as
you ride by! Crow Canyon, known as Ohio’s
Premiere Riding Park, is a venue with which to
bring the whole family.

Various hill climbs available for those
who like to shoot hills |
Located near
Uhrichsville, Ohio, Crow Canyon’s 400+ acres
offers something for every type of rider with
challenges to please the novice riders to the
experts. There are numerous hill climbs, trails
through the woods, mud bogs, open field riding
for beginners, and two separate motocross tracks
with one being for youth riders only! All riders
must be 18 years-old to ride or have a parent or
guardian with them.

Action Extreme Sports Shop |
Upon entry
into the park, riders will immediately notice
one exception that is different from all other
riding spots–a full-service parts and
accessories shop. Action Extreme Sports
(AES) is the resident parts and repair shop and Tomberlin ATV dealer. Often times, if you have
problems out on the trail, you’re done for the
day. With that in mind, how often can you go out
for a ride and stop by the maintenance shop for
a quick fix to hit the trails, again, on the
same day?

AES
Promotions LLC, owned and operated by Chuck
Bingham and Jeff Ricker, is open for business
during the same hours as the riding park which
is open daily, 7 days a week, from 10 am to 6
pm. However, Crow Canyon’s riding park is closed
to trail riding during AMA-sanctioned motocross
events. Sorry, District 12 has recently dropped
quads from their endorsement schedule, so there
are no motos for those wishing to race at the
motocross! Quad riders on sport bikes can,
nevertheless, enjoy the motocross track on
non-race days.

Those looking for mud, that's here too! |
Also, of
special interest to Crow Canyon, is their
upcoming, 5th annual, Turkey Run. The event will
be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. The event features a 10-mile trail
loop for riders to traverse. All riders are
welcome. Last year’s event brought in over 700
riders for the day. Crow Canyon’s Jeff Ricker,
commenting about this year’s event stated, “KTM
will be on hand with all of their off-road and
MX bikes. They will also have their new quads to
demo, as well.” Another big name at the event
will be Yamaha which will showcase their Grizzly
700 with power steering and Rhino sport utility
vehicles.
For a limited
time Crow Canyon will be offering a special
primitive camping rate for those wishing to ride
and stay over the weekend. The weekend
camping/riding rate is $25.00. Normal, daily
riding fees throughout the year at Crow Canyon
are $15.00.
If you’re
looking for an adventure, Crow Canyon is the
place to go. Don’t worry, the crows won’t
fly by and pluck your eyeballs out! You’re
supposed to be wearing eye protection, anyhow.
