Carolina
Adventure World goes to the Dark Side!

Mud Abounds at Carolina Adventure World

Service Road 10 where Bonfire will be.
 |
Already a place cherished by many locals as well
as enthusiasts from across the nation, Carolina
Adventure World keeps adding more to their
agenda, this time taking them over to the dark
side of the ATVing community.
The first major event of the 2009 season is
happening there on February 7th. On that night,
the moon will be almost full. According to
the U.S. Naval Observatory, it will be
considered a waxing gibbous moon with 95% of its
visible disk illuminated, in other words, it
should make for a very nice night of riding.
The crew at Carolina Adventure World have
decided to use this as a starting point for the
park as it invites thousands of riders to show
up for an adventure in night riding matched by
no other.
They have over 100 miles of trails that range in
difficulty from easy to extreme. All of
the trails will be open for the night ride
event. All age and other restrictions
apply.
These include:
- Admittance ID’s —Annual pass riders must have
their annual pass card with them upon entry.
Day pass riders must wear issued wristband as
identification.
- Helmets--- All riders are required to wear a DOT
approved helmet at all times. (Except golf
carts.)
- MX Daily Riding Tracks---- CAW strongly
recommends that you wear a chest protector on
these tracks.
- Tire restrictions--- No Tire
Restrictions!!!!! Please No Paddle,
Blade, Spike, Chains. All others are
welcome here at CAW.
- Do not rut out the trails or service
roads.
- Use designated mud areas.
- Riding Double--- This is only allowed on Factory
designed ATV or RUV units made for two riders.
- Three Wheelers--- NOT Allowed
- Minors--- Anyone under the age of 18 must have a
parent or legal guardians sign the liability
waiver and on-site with them at all times.
CAW recommends that you follow Federal
Guidelines on ATV age restrictions.
- Rentals—CAW currently rents Golf carts
and ATV’s. Please call ahead for
availability and/or reservations.
- Trails--- Ride cautiously and safely at all
times. Stay on marked trails, and obey all
signs, gates and barriers. You will be
provided with a map that will show one and two
way trails. Observe Federal Law, which
states no riding in creek beds. Crossings
allowed only at marked areas.
- Speed Limits--- Please obey all speed limit
signs including 10 MPH maximum in all parking
lots and camping areas.
Please stop when signaled by a park ranger or
CAW Staff.
Camping will be available if you want to catch
some zzzz’s in between riding or have a bonfire
of your own to hang out with your friends.
There will a huge bonfire maintained by CAW
staff on service road 10, which is conveniently
located just below the Junior Motocross Track.
You can bring your own food like hotdogs or
stuff to make Smores! However, food
service will be available until 9pm at the
concession stand, including very delicious and
HOT chicken stew. Due to the nature of this
event, Alcohol is not allowed.
At the time of this publication, they are still
debating on entertainment, such as bands, etc.
Admission for the entire night will be the same
as regular day rates. In fact, you can
come earlier in the day if you want and ride
into the night, all for the same price.
They are planning to host several events
throughout the year. This night ride event was
the result of customer requests and depending on
turn out, it may become a more regular staple on
their calendar. Typically, the park closes
at 5PM in winter and 6PM in summer, always
opening at 8AM.

World to check it out for yourself? It is
