Marcum's Motorsports and Cannondale Come Up Big At Baja
1000!

Marcum's Motorsports Inc. in Palatka, Florida headed up
the winning team in the Sportsmen ATV class this past weekend
at the 35th running of the Baja 1000. The race is a legendary
test of man and machine that takes place each year in Mexico.
This year's event drew over 230 entries from 30 U.S. states
and ten countries competing in classes for off-road trucks,
buggies, motorcycles and ATVs.
 Racing
at speeds of over 90 mph on a Cannondale Moto 440, Terry and
his teammates completed the brutal 1,017 miles from Ensenada
to La Paz in 27 hours, two minutes. In fact, their time on the
Moto 440 was good enough to put them in fifth place in the Pro
class! The team's success is especially dramatic in light of
the fact that they were racing a largely stock Moto 440
against highly-modified machines backed by mega-dollar race
support. Terry's team/support crew consisted of himself, Greg
Melby, Kenny Gaines, Scott Johnson and Zach Taylor. Congrats
to Terry and the crew on an amazing performance!
