Maxxis Introduces the iRazr in Summer,
2004
This
summer, Maxxis will introduce its newest ATV tire, the iRazr, to
the championship-winning line of Razr tires. Designed for
cross-country competition, the iRazr utilizes radial rather than
bias construction along with a new tread design.
The iRazr’s radial construction gives a smoother and more
controlled ride by reducing bump steer and arm fatigue, giving
riders that extra edge. Radial construction also reduces
sidewall tension of the tire. This reduction in tension allows a
wider contact patch with the terrain, providing more traction.
The
iRazr’s tread design provides responsive steering and
predictable braking for more control over different terrain
types. One way this is achieved is by the engineering of the
tread blocks. The blocks are constructed in such a way that they
reduce squirm while additional edges molded into the blocks add
extra bite. Another feature of the iRazr is the void areas.
These are designed specifically to be ultra smooth and wide
causing mud to shed quickly for maximum traction. The iRazr
features a durable, six-ply construction, adding a high degree
of puncture resistance and increasing tread life. Finally, the
iRazr’s attractive hot patch compliments an already great
looking tire.
Bill Ballance, 4-time GNCC Champion, tested the tire and gave
his stamp of approval: “This tire has the best traction of any
sport quad tire I’ve ever ridden.” Maxxis believes the iRazr
will set the bar for cross-country racing tires and looks
forward to seeing those results on the track.
