Cortland, NY, January 4, 2007: Empire Welding & Fabricating Co., Inc. of Cortland, NY has announced the addition of the ATR2 Model to the All Terrain Res-Q™ trailer line. With the growing need for deep woods rescues in the fire service the All Terrain Res-Q trailer system has advantages over traditional ways to rescue accident victims with less manpower.

The All Terrain Res-Q model 2 trailer still feature a combination hydraulic shock and spring suspension, high flotation tires, dual ratchet straps, IV pole and a multi-combination tongue to attach to towing vehicle. They also have the feature of a folding front section to make storage of the ATR trailer easier. Other uses of the ATR include an equipment carrier with the optional aluminum tub and portable fire suppression system with the optional portable pump and tank assembly. Other options for the ATR include a rear personnel seat to aid in treatment to the victim being transported, rear hose roller attachment and skis that are easily mounted in place of the tires for winter use with a snowmobile.

“Empire Welding introduced the All Terrain Res-Q last year at the NYAFC Fire 2005 Conference in Syracuse, NY and with more departments buying an enclosed trailer to haul their ATV’s.,” said Jeff Holcomb, general manager for Empire Welding. “The ATR 2 will allow them to fit the rescue trailer into their current trailer because of the smaller footprint it takes to store the ATR 2.”

“Park City Fire went operational two weeks ago with its winter back country rescue operations. My crew and I were ecstatic with the performance of the Res-Q Trailer.,” said Bob Zanetti, Captain of the Park City Fire Department, in a statement dated February 20, 2006. “We were thrilled to find out how light and easy to maneuver the trailer was. One person can hook up and stow the trailer when finished. The trailer is extremely stable and remains secure horizontally on steep hills. The trailer provides a steady firm ride for patients. The patient also lies high enough that they are out of the exhaust. We would like to commend you on your craftsmanship and wish your business the best.”
