Cabela’s named most visited Web site
Hitwise ranks No. 1 in the Sport and Fitness Category

SIDNEY, Neb. – Cabela’s Web site,, was ranked No. 1 in the outdoor retailer industry based on market share of U.S. visits in 2006. The World’s Foremost Outfitter led the Sports and Fitness Category from a Hitwise report of more than 10 million U.S. Internet users – the largest on-line sampling of its kind.

“Cabela’s on-line channel reinforces our brand strength as the World’s Foremost Outfitter,” said Dennis Highby, Cabela’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “By delivering on Cabela’s commitment to providing our customers the best service, selection, quality and value, has risen above the competition.”

Launched in 1998, provides customers with a convenient, user-friendly, secure e-commerce site offering all of the merchandise included in Cabela’s famous catalogs, as well as selected Internet-only merchandise. The Web site also serves as a clearinghouse of outdoor information and links to Cabela’s other business services.
