A
& D Boivin Design Inc. Makes ETS Suspension Kit for
Honda Foreman 450 E, ES
A & D Boivin design Inc. has been
designing and commercializing snowmobile suspension
upgrade kits since it began in 1995. You probably know
the company for their innovative new snow-bike vehicle
called the Snow Hawk
.
This family owned business is
breaking new ground in the ATV world by taking their
suspension savoir faire and applying it to an ATV.
Their first kit was designed and developed to increase
the smoothness and improve the handling of the Honda
Foreman 450 ATV while riding through rough terrain such
as hard, deep and short distanced holes and ruts. In
other words, a plusher ride in rough terrain.
Overall Improvements:
-
Improves overall stability,
handling and riding comfort while passing through
rough terrain.
-
Less demanding to handle or
operate over rough terrain (asphalt, grass and ground)
due to improved weight transfer. The front end of the
vehicle feels lighter to handle resulting in more
stirring ease.
-
The "4 wheel lock" stirring
effect is greatly reduced.
-
Violent impacts are absorbed
better by the chassis resulting from the increased
vertical down force (VDF) which decreases the kick
back effect from the vehicle on to the rider.
-
More wheel contact to the ground
and better traction in mud due to the increased
vertical drop out.
Front Suspension Modifications:
With the kit installed, the angles
of the front shock absorber are slightly modified in
order to apply, under impact, a "vertical down force"
VDF on the chassis. This VDF allows for a more
efficient suspension through rough terrain and gives
more recreation al pleasure to the driver. The VDF is a
mechanical behavior applied with great success by AD
Boivin design Inc. in the snowmobile suspension field.
We also add two spacers between the
coils of the springs. This modification results in
spring characteristics which are more supple at the
beginning and stiffer at the end of the travel.
Rear Suspension Modifications:
The same approach of the VDF effect
is applied to the rear shocks. The rear shock absorber
mounts are repositioned to increase the VDF, which
results in a smoother ride.
Front and rear suspension
modifications create a well balanced, supple vehicle
which makes you want to drive in a more sporty manner no
matter what the use.
These seemingly simple and cost
efficient modifications are the result of many hours of
research and physical testing.
Retail price is $149.95 US
funds/$199.95 Canadian. Ask your local Honda dealer
