POLARIS ANNOUNCES REVISED FALL/WINTER ADVENTURE TOUR
SCHEDULE |
MINNEAPOLIS, August 13, 2001 -- Now's the time to
secure your reservations for a Polaris 'Way Out'
Adventure Tour. The coming year's tours are diverse and
exciting, taking Polaris riders to several beautiful
riding destinations.
Why the urgency to sign
up? Because space is limited and once people go on a
tour, they're hooked, and sign up for more.
Jim and Betty Crain
went on the first Oak Ridge, Tenn. tour. "We had a ball.
It was fantastic," said Jim. "Everyone had a fun and
loved the riding. We're signing up for the
Hatfield-McCoy tour this year."
Joe Rumph and Margaret
Sanchez were on last year's Black Hills tour. "What a
great time Margaret and I had riding in South Dakota,"
said Joe. "The hotel and meals were great and the area
around Deadwood and Lead are truly some of the most
scenic I have ever seen. We enjoyed meeting riders from
different parts of the country. It's good to find so
many people from different walks of life who share the
common interest of coming together with a sport they
love."
Darlene R. Dill rode on
an ATV tour last year and said, "we truly enjoyed our
experience. We've told several other Polaris riders
about our fun time and gave them the schedule. We're
planning to join another tour."
Here are tour host
Harlan Mannigel's exciting descriptions of the great
riding, scenery, and fun you'll enjoy on an upcoming
Polaris The Way Out Adventure Tour.
OAK RIDGE, TENN., ATV Tour
September 28 - October 1, 2001
Talk about southern
hospitality! The lodging is strictly first class with
rooms, meals, and hospitality, all under one roof. The
ride begins by trailering seven miles to the trail head.
The Oak Ridge guides from the Windrock ATV Club are
absolutely outstanding. Very knowledgeable, very
helpful, and just fine people who lead riders into areas
that will blow your mind. There are ups, there are
downs, there is mud with a trail running through it or
around it. There will be numerous stops for picture
taking and camaraderie. It's a blast! The tour was
scheduled for next year, but the trip is so amazing that
it was rescheduled for this year. The $10 daily trail
fee is well worth it. An ATV Magazine reporter was on
the last trip and wrote an excellent story in the July
2001 issue.
Tour Cost: $425.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Add percent for single occupancy. Payment in
full required to secure your reservation.
Price includes: Three nights lodging, three
evening dinners, two breakfasts, guide fees, all related
taxes and food gratuities.
HATFIELD McCOY
TRAIL, WILLIAMSON, W. VA., ATV Tour
October 1-5, 2001
The wait is over. Picture 2,000 miles of marked trails
running through the Appalachian Mountains of West
Virginia and Kentucky. The ride starts from the Sycamore
Inn parking lot each day and splits into riding groups
so you can ride at your pace. There'll be numerous stops
for photos of the awesome scenery and some good ol'
Polaris camaraderie. The tour covers about 55-75 miles
daily, so there's no need for extra gas, but drinking
water is recommended. The trail is at an elevation of
about 4,000 feet, so dress accordingly. Local riding
requirements include: A $25.00 trail permit for three
days of riding, a photo ID, Helmets, and vehicles over
50" wide are prohibited (no Polaris RANGER vehicles).
Tour Cost: $500.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Add percent for single occupancy. Payment in
full required to secure your reservation.
Price includes: Four nights lodging, four
dinners, three breakfasts, three days of guided rides
and all related taxes and food gratuities.
DRUMMOND ISLAND, MICH., ATV Tour
October 15-18, 2001
A large island an hour northeast of the Mackinac Bridge,
Drummond Island is known as "The Rock" due to its
limestone geology, and it offers a variety of off-road
challenges. The topography and terrain give the island
its appeal. Most of Drummond is heavily forested, with
rocks everywhere. There are mud bogs over 100 yards
long, rock gardens, and ledges that call for 4WD. Riders
of 2WD ATVs will have a great ride and will test their
riding skills, but The Rock is where Polaris 4x4 owners
realize their secret fantasies. It's better than any
catalog or TV commercial and provides 4x4 owners with an
unforgettable experience. Wooded trails suddenly open
into shoreline, and scenic overlooks are ideal for lunch
stops, photos, rock hounding, or nature watching.
Wildlife include deer, bear, grouse, turkey, eagles, and
perhaps some wolves and moose.
Tour Cost: $400.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Add 35 percent for single occupancy. Deposit
of $150.00 (US) per person required to hold your
reservation.
Price includes: Three nights lodging, three
evening dinners, two breakfasts, guide fees, all related
taxes and food gratuities.
ALEXANDRIA, LA., ATV Tour
November 8-11, 2001
The playground for this adventure is the Kisatchie
National Forest, 600,000 acres of diverse terrain. The
ride will include hilly, pine-strewn terrain, bayou
swamps, and small ponds. Wildlife abounds, including
alligators, snakes, wood ducks, mink, and pileated
woodpeckers (don't ask). There are trails and mud holes.
(Riders can ride through, or around, the mud.) Plus, for
one day, half of the group will ride spectacular sand
dunes, while the other riders (thanks to Jeni Peterman
of the local Polaris dealership) get to ride Polaris
watercraft. Amazing! If your ATV is registered in your
home state, you pay no extra trail fee. Helmets are not
required, but are recommended. Polaris rentals are
available. Call 318/473-9200 and tell them you're with a
Polaris The Way Out Adventure Tour.
Tour Cost: $395.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Add 35 percent for single occupancy. Deposit
of $150.00 (US) per person required to hold your
reservation; balance due Sept. 6.
Price includes: Three nights lodging, three
evening dinners, two breakfasts, guide fees, all related
taxes and food gratuities.
WEST YELLOWSTONE,
MONT., Snowmobile Tour
January 8-12, 2001 OR January 12-16, 2002
Day One (of both tours): check in, gas up, and get
acquainted. Day Two: This is a rather short distance,
only about 90 miles, but the play areas make it a full
day. The pack will gas up and have lunch at the very
unique Eino's, where as YOU grill your hamburgers. The
day's trails include Horse Butte, Cougar Creek, and the
Madison Arm Loop. Day Three: Riders will tour the park,
and with 135 miles of awesome scenery, you'll be
delighted. Stops include the Norris Geyser Basin, Grand
Canyon of Wyoming, Mud Volcanoes, Fishing Bridge, West
Thumb, and Old Faithful. Then riders walk the planks of
the Fountain Paint Pots and cruise Firehole Canyon, my
favorite area. Day Four: riders do Lionshead and Two Top
Mountain, then head farther into Idaho and its awesome
trails. The likely lunch stop is the famous Alice's
Restaurant. Good atmosphere, good food, good company.
What else could you ask for?
Tour Cost: $650.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Add 35 percent for single occupancy. Deposit
of $150.00 (US) per person required to hold your
reservation; balance due Dec. 4.
Price includes: Four nights lodging, four evening
dinners, three breakfasts, guide fees, all related taxes
and food gratuities.
VERMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE, MAINE Snowmobile Tour
January 27-February 2, 2002
Here's a round-trip snowmobile adventure that loops
through three states! Only 60 riders will be included on
this trip, so he who hesitates stays home! This trip is
recommended for those who have ridden at least 100 miles
a day for two straight days. Be ready to ride about 150
miles a day for several days or you'll slow down 59
others. Husband and wife teams are encouraged to join
the ride for one heck of memorable ride. The ride starts
at Montpelier, Vt. And requires carrying your own
luggage on your sleds, so pack light (and bring oil).
The tour will split into three riding groups but all
stay at the same motel each night and have dinners and
breakfasts together. Two nights will be spent two at a
Maine inn, with a day to rest or ride with Bev and me to
Jackman, Me., and back. Accommodations are first-rate,
dinners are scrumptious, and breakfasts are buffet
style.
To acquire trail permits: This sled information
is required with your reservation: Make (Polaris),
Model, Model Year, and VIN. Tell us if you already have
any of the three required permits (Vt., N.H., and Me).
Tour Cost: $950.00 (US) per person, double
occupancy. Single occupancy not available. Deposit of
$150.00 (US) per person required to hold your
reservation; balance due Dec. 24.
Price includes: Six nights lodging, six evening
dinners, five breakfasts, trail passes, guide fees, all
related taxes and food gratuities.
