SEND A LETTER TO PROTECT RECREATIONAL ACCESS IN SIERRA MOUNTAINS!

BlueRibbon CoalitionOutdoor recreationists should be concerned that the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) for the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment could or will have a significant negative impact on recreational activities that occur in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Those activities or user groups include; hunting, mountain biking, off-highway vehicles, SUV and 4-wheel drive touring, fishing, hiking, snowmobiles, downhill skiing, snowboarders, equestrians, and packers.

Access interests should ask the Forest Service to eliminate the reclassification of "Open" vs. "Restricted" Forests from the DSEIS since it is outside the scope of the project.

Also you should ask the agency to exempt recreational activities from the potential impacts (e.g. closures, restrictions, LOPs, etc.) of the DSEIS since they are outside the scope of the project. Such management should occur at the Forest level.
