PIAA to Sponsor 12 Hours of ATV America

Professional Halogen Lamp SystemsBEAVERTON, Ore. – PIAA Corporation, a world leader in powersports and automotive performance lighting products, has agreed to be an associate sponsor of the 12 Hours of ATV America race, a sponsorship that includes cash contingency awards -- announced PIAA President Richard Churchill.

“PIAA is excited about supporting this prestigious ATV event,” Churchill said. “This is a great opportunity for us to show the ATV and Powersports industry that PIAA is serious about applying its proven lighting technology to the ATV market. In addition to our event sponsorship, we’re also offering contingency awards of $100 for first and second place in each class for those riders using PIAA bulbs or lamps.”

The only event of its kind in the U.S., the 12 Hours of ATV America takes place October 25 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Its format is a simple: one ATV, one to three riders, two 6-hour sessions on a 6-mile course. The second 6-hour session runs from 4 to 10 p.m., which means at least fo12 hours of ATV Americaur hours of after-dark racing, putting a premium on lighting performance.

Racing classes – A, B or Pro, Industry, and Utility Expert – are determined by a team's racing experience. At last year’s inaugural 12 Hours of ATV America, 54 teams entered from 26 different states, plus Quebec, Canada and France. This year, race organizers expect upwards of 100 teams to compete.

PIAA recently introduced its proven Xtreme White halogen technology to the growing ATV and scooter market with its PIAA Powersports H6M OEM replacement bulb. The PIAA Xtreme White H6M ATV bulb incorporates PIAA’s patented XTRA halogen technology, which offers greater bulb output without the need to increase amperage draw. The output of a 35-watt PIAA H6M illuminates at the equivalent brightness of a standard 55-watt halogen bulb.

The PIAA Xtreme White H6M is designed as an OEM replacement bulb for most popular ATVs and scooters. PIAA Xtreme White bulbs lights at a Kelvin rating of 4150K. For comparison, sunlight is 5250K a standard incandescent bulb is 2600K.

PIAA has been the acknowledged leader in innovative automotive products since its founding in 1963. PIAA products, created in PIAA's Technical Design Center in Japan, are known for their visionary design, inspired engineering and quality components.
