KRYPTONITE OFFERS FREE REPLACEMENT KEYS
Key Safe Program Stores Keys for Customers to Prevent
Total Key Loss
Canton,
MA (USA) February 14, 2004 - Kryptonite, a brand in
Ingersoll-Rand's Security and Safety Americas Sector, portable
security business unit, has announced its new Key Safe
Program. Action Sports lock customers in the United States are
eligible to receive two free keys at any point during the
lifetime of the lock. No shipping charges. No handling
charges. No hidden costs. Absolutely free replacement keys
from the creator of the motorcycle security category. The
Kryptonite Key Safe Program is currently in effect.
"Kryptonite knows that no matter how many keys come with a
lock when it is purchased, people don't always remember where
they put the extra keys after a few years or even just a few
months," said Tom Fowler, Kryptonite's Director of Action
Sports. "Kryptonite has always had an excellent key
replacement program because our philosophy is that the lock
sale is just the beginning of the relationship with the
customer, not the only point of contact. We enjoy creating
long-lasting relationships with our customers; the Key Safe
Program is just another way for the Kryptonite consumer to
benefit from his or her purchase, even if it is 10 years
later."
Key Safe Program Anyone owning or purchasing a Kryptonite motorcycle or
bicycle lock in the United States at a motorcycle or
independent bicycle shop could be eligible for the Key Safe
Program. The company currently provides either two or three
keys with the lock at the time of purchase with the option to
buy additional keys for a nominal fee. From this point
forward, when a consumer orders replacement keys for their
motorcycle or bike lock from Kryptonite, they will receive the
first two standard keys free.
If
the Kryptonite lock was purchased recently at a motorcycle or
independent bike dealer and the consumer needs new keys, the
first two will be provided by Kryptonite at no charge. If the
lock was purchased five or even ten years ago and the consumer
has already purchased replacement keys with the current plan,
the next two keys ordered will be sent at no charge. This
program is designed to give the consumer the assurance that
not all is lost if they misplace back-up keys after the
purchase of the lock.
The
company suggests consumers register their key numbers with
Kryptonite when they purchase the lock either online at
http://www.kryptonitelock.com/ or with the form provided
in the packaging. There is nothing else the consumer needs to
do until they need another set of keys. At that time they
contact Kryptonite, give their key number or just their name
if they have previously registered and the company will send
them two free standard keys. Keys can only be replaced if the
consumer has the key number or has previously registered it
with Kryptonite. If additional keys are needed after the two
free keys, they can still be purchased for a nominal fee.

Program.
