KAWASAKI TO PROVIDE SUZUKI WITH MULE™ 3010 4X4 UTILITY VEHICLE
Kawasaki-built utility vehicle will be sold through both Kawasaki and Suzuki dealer networks

Kawasaki Motor Corp.IRVINE, Calif. (May 17, 2004) – Japan-based Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) announced that its successful alliance with Suzuki Motor Corp., which has enabled both brands to expand their product lines in the U.S. market and to share development costs for select models, will now include a utility vehicle.

Suzuki will be given the opportunity to market its own branded version of the Kawasaki-built MULE™ 3010 4x4 utility vehicle.

Kawasaki pioneered the off-road utility vehicle market when it introduced the first MULE utility vehicle in 1988, and today the line consists of four models, all of which are built at Kawasaki’s manufacturing facility in Lincoln, Neb.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., (KMC) markets and sells at wholesale Kawasaki motorcycles, ATVs, personal watercraft, utility vehicles, power products and general purpose engines. These product lines are sold through a network of more than 1,500 independent retailers. KMC and its affiliates employ nearly 2,400 people in the United States, with approximately 400 of them located at the Irvine, California headquarters.

Kawasaki’s tagline, “Let the good times roll™”, is recognized worldwide and the brand is aggressively carrying its heritage of power, performance, leading-edge design and exhilaration into the 21st century.
