Warn Industries Introduces 1.5ci ATV Winch
Ideally suited for lightweight ATVs and sport bikes.
 INDIANAPOLIS, Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo –
(February 14, 2004) – Warn Industries introduces the WARN® 1.5ci
Winch, an entry-level product for use on lightweight ATVs and
sport bikes. With the introduction of the 1.5ci, Warn now offers
a full-range family of winches and accessories for the ATV
market.
The WARN 1.5ci is a compact winch that weighs in at just 11.5
lbs. (5.2 kgs.) but delivers 1,500 lbs. of pulling power. A new
0.4 hp. 12V DC motor—with minimal amp draw—and three-stage
planetary gear train combine to deliver consistently reliable
performance for both short and extended run times with very
little heat build-up.
Operator controls include a fixed-mount mini rocker switch and
contactor (both environmentally sealed), and a cam-activated
clutch lever for easy winching and free spooling. A mechanical
brake is included as a standard feature. In addition, the 1.5ci
features a corrosion-resistant aluminum drum with Warn’s proven
cable retention system for easy wire attachment.
 With a patent-pending design, the WARN 1.5ci is suitable for use
on today’s most popular ATVs and sport bikes. These include
Artic Cat DVX 400, Kawasaki KFX 400, Polaris Predator 500,
Suzuki LTZ 400 and Ozark 250, and Yamaha 660R Raptor and
Warrior. Warn has engineered bolt-on mounting systems to
precisely fit each model, with no cutting or fabricating
required. Further, these mounting systems are uniquely designed
to distribute winch load throughout the ATV’s frame, which
minimizes any impact on alignment, ride and handling. Additional
mounting kits will be introduced in the near future.
A WARN 1.5ci kit comes with 50 ft. of aircraft grade wire rope,
hook with clasp, hook strap and hawse fairlead. An available
accessory kit includes a shackle, snatch block and tree trunk
protector. The winch is backed by a one year limited warranty.
