FOREST SERVICE CHIEF BOSWORTH TO ADDRESS
ATV INDUSTRY IN LOUISVILLE OCT. 14
Gardnerville, NV – July 22, 2004 – U.S. Forest Service Chief
Dale Bosworth will deliver a keynote address at the ATV EXPO and
World’s Fair Industry Breakfast to be held at the Kentucky
International Convention Center. The Industry Breakfast meeting,
which will be the first gathering of the ATV Industry as a
whole, will be held October 14, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. before the
grand opening of the Expo.
This industry session has an expected audience of approximately
1,800 participants mainly comprised of ATV Manufacturers,
aftermarket companies, dealers/retailers and ATV Industry
leaders. Chief Bosworth will focus on the importance of federal,
public and private partnerships and how planning and working
together will provide for future success for continued riding
areas.
"Dale Bosworth is a veteran forester who has devoted his career
to the Forest Service," said Rick Campbell, Expo Producer. "His
authority, position in our government, background and experience
should make for an informative and enlightening morning
session.”
The four-day Expo and World’s Fair will bring together much of
the senior leadership of the ATV Industry. Several hundred
representatives from manufacturing, aftermarket companies,
non-profits, associations and dealer/retailers will be in
attendance. In addition, over 200 Exhibitors from around the
world will fill the Kentucky International Convention Center,
exhibiting 2 days for Trade and 2 days for the consumers.
Dale Bosworth stated, “At the Forest Service, we recognize our
obligation to provide the full range of outdoor recreation
opportunities that Americans want. The national forests and
grasslands are, in many ways, a playground for all Americans.
Over 70 percent of the population lives within an easy day's
drive of national forest land. We are accountable to the
American people for furnishing high-quality recreation
opportunities while protecting the right of future generations
to enjoy their public land in the same way people do today.” We
are emphasizing performance accountability in how we meet the
recreation demands of America.”
Bosworth became the 15th Chief of the Forest Service on April
12, 2001. Prior to his selection as chief, Bosworth served as
regional forester for the Northern Region of the Forest Service,
headquartered in Missoula, Montana, since August 1997. He had
been in a similar position as regional forester for the
Intermountain Region in Ogden, Utah since 1994.
