DALE EARNHARDT, JR. AND POLARIS TEAM UP WITH
VICTORY JUNCTION GANG CAMP FOR 2005 NASCAR SEASON
EACH DALE JR. "TOP 8" FINISH GIVES KIDS OPPORTUNITY TO
EXPERIENCE VICTORY JUNCTION GANG CAMP
Minneapolis, February 23, 2005 - Polaris Industries Inc.
announced today it is teaming up with NASCAR Nextel Cup star
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. to sponsor a program benefiting the Victory
Junction Gang Camp and children with chronic and life
threatening illnesses during the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup season.
Dale Jr.'s performance each week will determine how many
children Polaris will send to Victory Junction Gang Camp at the
end of the season. For each 'top 8' finish by Earnhardt, Jr.,
the Minnesota-based recreational vehicle manufacturer will
sponsor a
weeklong stay for one camper at the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
One
week into the season, Earnhardt, Jr.'s third-place finish at the
Daytona 500 means the program is already off to a great start.
"We at Polaris couldn't think of a better way to support the
great things being done at the Victory Junction Gang Camp," said
Bennett Morgan, vice president and general manager of the ATV
division at Polaris. "Tying our donation to Dale Jr.'s
performance is a win-win situation for Victory Junction and
gives NASCAR fans even more reason to cheer."
Fans can follow the donation progress throughout the season
by checking out the "Dale Jr.'s Top 8 for Victory Junction" counter on the ATV
page of
www.polarisindustries.com. The cumulative donation will
be granted at the end of the racing season.
"I am lucky to have visited Victory Junction and witnessed
firsthand the camp's commitment to giving these courageous kids
positive experiences," said Earnhardt, Jr. "I never need
motivation to do my very best on the race track, but knowing
that through this partnership with Polaris, I will help
guarantee opportunities for kids to experience the camp means an
awful lot to me both as a driver and Victory Junction
supporter."
Earnhardt, Jr. is an avid ATV rider and the official
spokesperson for Polaris ATVs.
