EXCITING NEW FEATURES AND ENTERTAINMENT
Toyota Off-Road Ride and Drive,
Diesel Dyno Shootout, UROC RockCross Racing,
Live Music and More
SANTA ANA, CALIF. (September 12,
2007) – The 2007 Off-Road Expo
presented by Toyota, the nation’s largest
off-road consumer products show series, will
invade the Pomona Fairplex October 6-7, bigger
than ever. A number of thrilling new features
are sure to excite the crowds such as sanctioned
UROC rockcrawling racing, a Toyota Off-Road Ride
and Drive, live music, a KidsZone and much more.
"Off-road enthusiasts of all ages will be
amazed at all there is to do and see at this
year’s Expo, which has expanded and taken over
the infield of the race track and an additional
hall at the Fairplex,” said Show Director Tom
Gattuso. “The Expo is definitely the best place
in the country for off-road lovers to see all
the hottest new vehicles to add to their wish
lists and get together with others that share
their passion for off-roading. We are excited to
have added even more entertainment this year to
further expand the social atmosphere for the
thousands of off-road lovers who make the trek
each year to Pomona.”
This year’s Off-Road Expo showcases all the
latest and hottest off-road toys, technologies,
gear and accessories from more than 350 of the
industry’s leading manufacturers, dealers and
distributors. In addition to the line-up of
4X4s, sand rails, ATVs, dirt bikes, rock
crawlers, side-by-sides, mud boggers, Jeeps and
accessories on display, the Expo will come to
life with exciting new entertainment features
including:
- Toyota FJ Cruiser Ride and Drive – For the first
time ever, Off-Road Expo is home to a free
Toyota FJ Cruiser Off-Road Ride and Drive all
weekend long. This Ride and Drive lets attendees
18 and older get behind the wheel of an FJ where
it belongs – on the dirt! It also allows drivers
to discover first-hand the quality and
performance of this amazing off-road machine in
a fun, no-pressure environment. The off-road
course was built to fully demonstrate the
ruggedness of the FJ Cruiser, as drivers
maneuver over side berms, hills, rocks and more.
- “Off-Road Expo LAUNCH’D, presented by Dirt
Alliance Dirt Tour” – This cool new outdoor
“LAUNCH’D” zone is the perfect area for
attendees to get together with friends, listen
to live music, sit down and socialize with other
off-road fans. Exciting new live entertainment
will rock the Expo with four bands playing each
day, courtesy of X103.9 FM, “The Inland Empire's
Alternative Rock” station. Bands set to take the
stage are: Orange County-based Everyday Tragedy;
Inland Empire-based Inhale; Idasas; and Anger is
a Gift – a Rage Against the Machine tribute
band.
- United Rockcrawling and Off-Road Challenge
(UROC) Skyjacker Pro RockCross National Race –
The Expo is the second stop of the UROC
Skyjacker Pro RockCross National Series race, a
new breed of off-road motorsport that combines
technical rock crawling with head-to-head
racing, eliminating tedious time trials! Taking
place on a special course built on the infield
of the race track, this competition includes
heats of more than two dozen racers who will
compete in races throughout the weekend.
- “Bully Dog Diesel Dyno Shootout”– For truck
lovers who have always wanted to know their
truck’s actual horse power, this is a do not
miss feature! Sponsored by Bully Dog, truck
owners are encouraged to bring their trucks to
the Expo and hook them up to the Expo’s first
ever dyno machine, located outside buildings 8
and 5. There are two classes of participants:
open and street class, and the cost is $55 per
participant. Each entrant will receive an
official certificate noting the exact horsepower
and foot-pounds of torque so they can brag to
all their friends! Additionally, cool prizes
will be awarded for trucks with the most
horsepower. Space is limited so register online
at www.offroadexpo.com.
- 40th Anniversary Baja 1000 Display – For the
first time ever, the Expo is home to an area
dedicated to the history and future of the world
famous Baja 1000 race, which takes place every
November in Baja, Mexico. This year marks the
1000 mile race’s 40th anniversary and to
celebrate its rich history, race producer SCORE
has created a display showcasing numerous
historical vehicles, as well as pictures, videos
and trophy cases from all 40 years! SCORE radio
will also be broadcasting from the display with
special appearances by Baja 1000 racers. This
year’s race festivities kick off November 10, in
Tijuana and culminate November 16, in Cabo San
Lucas and as a special surprise to all in
attendance, SCORE will be announcing this year’s
race route live at the Expo – a can’t miss
feature for desert racing fans!
- Motocross America – ‘The Tour’ – New this
year at the Expo is the Motocross America Tour
display, which in conjunction with the AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, traces the
evolution of motocross in the United States with
period bikes, images and apparel, showing the
growth and technological evolution of this
popular sport over the years. Motocross and Baja
legend Malcolm Smith and stars such as Decoster,
Hannah, Bailey and McGrath will all be depicted
in the display along with championship-winning
dirt bikes.
- MotoKids/Cycle News “KidsZone” – Also new
this year is a special area just for kids filled
with balloon artists, an inflatable obstacle
course, contests, prizes and more. There will
even be a rock climbing wall that will test even
the best climbers ($5 per person). Kids are
encouraged to visit the KidsZone to register for
some great prizes and to enter the MotoKids
Coloring Contest for a chance to win a brand new
FMF BMX bicycle! This is a great place for kids
to enjoy hours of fun, courtesy of MotoKids and
Cycle News magazines.
- M.O.B. FMX - Freestyle Motocross – Freestyle
Motocross fans are sure to be thrilled and
amazed by M.O.B. FMX performances on both days.
Talented professional riders will launch 70 feet
through the air while performing an arsenal of
insane aerial tricks that can only be described
as amazing! Each rider will make sure they get
attendees’ blood pumping with their
one-of-a-kind tricks to a heart pounding
soundtrack. After each performance there will be
autograph and photo sessions so fans of all ages
can get up close and personal with their
favorite riders.
- RC Racing and Crawling – For RC racing
enthusiasts this year’s Expo has not one, but
two tracks. Cen Racing will demonstrate
traditional RC racing with professional drivers
taking scale models of the vehicles they drive
in real life through all the turns on a
specially built RC course. RCP Crawlers will let
attendees try their hand at racing RC vehicles
up, around and over a rock course just like the
big buggies outside.
- ATV/Outdoor Showcase – The ATV/Outdoor
Showcase returns this year with even more
four-wheeled fun packed into the display,
courtesy of ATV, ATV Sport and Camping Life
magazines. Here attendees and ATV fans will find
the latest in ATV buildups, aftermarket parts,
accessories and gear, as well as side-by-sides
and all-purpose utility vehicles. Attendees can
enter ATV Sport magazine’s “Ultimate Sport Quad
Giveaway” where one lucky winner will take home
the grand daddy of all ATVs. Additionally,
Camping Life Magazine will give away a camping
package stacked with everything for the great
outdoors.
