For
all the marbles!!
The
Short Track National Championship is a one-race event.
In one night of racing, the winner takes home the Short
Track National Champion Title.
The
1/2-mile oval at Wayne County Speedway provided for an
excellent race venue.
Though the track conditions were dry and the
weather hot and humid, a good soaking from an 2 hour
rain shower helped to make the clay track tacky and
cooled down the temps.
The tracks soft clay
allowed the high-powered quads to put all their power to
the ground making for some exciting holeshots and racing
action.
Flat-track
racing is for the high speed adrenaline junky who
cant get enough of going into a corner WOT, sliding
the backend out, getting back on the gas coming out of
the corner, and then becoming one with their quad by
tucking down to make less wind resistance as they haul
down the straight a ways.
Shane
Hitt was the reigning 2000 Short-Track National Champion
and was ready to defend his title. Shane won his
heat races and easily walked away from his closest
competitors in the main event.
Nathan Dallas captured second while Darin Ogden
wrapped up the third podium position.
Shane
Hitt was crowned the 2001 Short Track National Champion.
