Official 2006 ATVA National Motocross Schedule Announced
14-race ATV Nationals Series begins in March and ends in October

Morgantown, WV – The ATV National Promoters, in conjunction with the All Terrain Vehicle Association (ATVA), have announced the official schedule for the 2006 ATV National Motocross Championships. The tentative schedule released previously has been revised based on feedback from racers, sponsors and teams.

The second round of the series, The Wrangler at Oak Hill Motocross Park in Texas, has been moved to February 11 and 12 to clear the weekend of February 18 and 19 for the Indianapolis Tradeshow. ATV industry companies and sponsors requested a free weekend in order to attend the Indy show. The Texas round now takes place on the weekend after the opening round at Glen Helen Raceway in California. In order to hold a true national championship, it is critical to hold races in the California and Texas markets, and combining them into back-to-back weekends will allow racers from the East to make both races in one week-long trip.

In addition, round three of the series at Gatorback Cycle Park had been moved back one week, now taking place at the end of Daytona Bike Week.

The 2006 ATVA National MX Series schedule removes most conflicts with the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) ATV Series. Sponsors, riders and manufacturers requested that the two series do not conflict, and this year only one of the 14 MX rounds will run on the same weekend as a GNCC.

Five new locations make up the expanded 2006 tour. Oak Hill MX in Alvord, Texas will hold an ATVA MX National for the first time, as well as Mill Creek MX in Pell City, Alabama, Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Illinois, and Ballance MX in Bowling Green Kentucky. In addition, the traditional High Point ATV Stampede in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania has been moved to Steel City Raceway in Delmont, Pennsylvania for 2006, due to High Point hosting a Loretta Lynn’s Regional Championship for motorcycles.
