Ice National Press Releases

Menasha, WI – Individual class winners will be easy to spot at the AMA National Ice Racing Championships, since they will be the first to take the checkered flag in their perspective classes. But which state really has the best racers… the Michigan Mafia, the Wisconsin Hit men, how about the boys and girls from Illinois, New York, or Colorado? “Bragging rights” this year will be decided with one race, the “Mack Daddy Racing Team Challenge.”

“Creating some friendly competition between the states with a “team” event could be a ton of fun,” comments George Mack, the idea man and owner of Mack Daddy Racing. “With $1000 up for grabs on the team challenge, the fans are guaranteed to have fun because the riders are going to show up to the line with their race faces on. This is going to create some drama because it’s not going to be just about the money, but the pride of their state that is on the line.”

Each state represented at Nationals will be allowed to elect a three-man team to compete in the Mack Daddy Racing Team Challenge. Only one team per state will be allowed. The Mack Daddy Racing Team Challenge will be a single race held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 14th, the final day of the Nationals. All three members of each team will take to the line. The individual winner of this 15-lap race will earn $100 and each member of the winning team will earn $300 and the bragging rights to carry the title to the 2007 event. Since their piers are selecting riders, there will be no entry fee for this event.

With the addition of a second Kold Kutter Shootout and the Mack Daddy Racing Team Challenge, the purse for the National Ice Racing Championships has now grown to $6000.00 for 2006. Add the payback for the Quad A classes and the purse is over $6000.
