Rescheduling of National Ice
Racing Championships
Menasha,
WI – Untimely warm weather throughout the Midwest
is forcing Fantasy Moto to reschedule the AMA National
Ice Racing Championships that were originally set
for January 14-15th, 2006.
Had the event been scheduled prior to Christmas
there would not have been an problem but this warm
front has parked itself over the Midwest for three
straight weeks. We’ve seen week-long warming trends
in the past, but nothing quite like this. There
is still 8.5 o 11.5 inches of ice at the race site
but the seasoned experts we rely upon all agree
the quality of the ice is not sufficient to guarantee
a safe environment for racers and fans. Temperatures
are expected to drop, but not enough.
Fantasy Moto is currently discussing possible
make-up dates with the owners of Waverly Beach as
well as the organizers of the CWIRA. Fantasy Moto
will be releasing the make-up date on or before
Friday, January 6th. Pre-entered racers should wait
until after the make-up date is released to call
about the status of their pre-registration.
