Rhino Craft Takes On "Best in the Desert" UTV Series
Aftermarket performance company makes racing debut at Parker
250
PARKER, Ariz. (January 15, 2006)
-- Rhino Craft, a Lake
Elsinore-based aftermarket performance company specializing in
custom designed control arms for the Yamaha Rhino, entered the
Parker 250 on January 7 in the newly formed Utility Terrain
Vehicle (UTV) class.
Company co-founders and brothers Brent and Chad Spooner took to
the racecourse for the very first time since they finished
customizing "Big Red," their first foray into building
high-performance utility vehicles. Rhino Craft brought out Big
Red in all its glory ? complete with all-new custom control
arms, a low-profile roll cage, sleek side panels, and much more.
For 2006, the Best in the Desert series added a UTV class
-- and
that meant that Rhino Craft had to be there. Of the five UTVs
entered in the race, Brent and Chad started out in fourth
position and were quickly battling for the lead. Nearly 70 miles
into the race and in a heated battle for the fourth time with
Desert Toyz -- Cory Sappington, the brothers found themselves
sharing the course with a motorcycle racer. As they gave the
rider some space, Big Red caught a boulder -- breaking the axle
and bending the rear differential. Though it ultimately ended
their race, Big Red proved its capabilities and was credited
with third overall.
Rhino Craft, which can fully customize any Rhino or sell custom
parts individually, is planning to open a showroom to the public
early this spring. The company, founded by former professional
ATV racer Brent Spooner and brother Chad Spooner, uses
proprietary design and engineering to take utility vehicle
customization to a whole new level. For more information, visit
