Suzuki Returns
as Title Sponsor for 2006 GNCC Series
Morgantown, WV – Racer Productions proudly
announces that American Suzuki has returned as
title sponsor for the 2006 Suzuki Grand National
Cross Country Series.
“Suzuki is very excited to be back,” said Glenn
Hansen, Communications Manager for American
Suzuki. “Last year was our first year as the
title sponsor, and it worked out very well for
us. We’re thrilled to do it again – and we hope
this is a long-term relationship.”
With help from Suzuki, the GNCC Series returned
to television last year on the Outdoor Life
Network. Suzuki’s support brings the series back
to OLN in 2006, and it also allows the series to
expand through larger purses and a greater, more
professional presentation at each race.
“Suzuki’s support allowed GNCC Racing to go to
the next level,” says Racer Production’s Jeff
Russell. “We hope to accomplish even more with
them this year.”
Suzuki’s GNCC efforts mirror their product line,
which offers a variety of products for the
off-road rider on both two and four-wheels.
Their FMF/Suzuki factory race team – led by
five-time GNCC Champion Rodney Smith - is one of
the most successful in GNCC history, as the RM,
RM-Z and DR-Z lines of motorcycles lend
themselves to GNCC racing. On the ATV side, Team
Suzuki has experienced plenty of success with
William Yokley, and the all-new LT-R450
QuadRacer promises to take the sport even
higher.
“Suzuki is always striving to go to the next
level,” says Hansen. “Whether it’s with our GSX-R
sport bikes, which are extremely competitive, or
our RM and RM-Z line of motocrossers,
competition is very important to us. The
QuadRacer name has been around for a long time,
because we were the first to build a
four-wheeled racing ATV. So we felt we had to go
to this level with ATVs, too. Competition is
what we do.”
Suzuki’s efforts in GNCC racing will be obvious
through banner placement at the track, mentions
in print and television coverage of the races
and a variety of promotions. They will also
return as title sponsor of one of the largest
races on the tour, the Suzuki Loretta Lynn’s
GNCC in April.
In addition to Suzuki, all of last year’s GNCC
featured sponsors have returned to the series,
including Parts Unlimited, Moose Racing, Wiseco,
Klotz, Maxxis, ITP, Pirelli and FMF.
The 2006 Suzuki Grand National Cross Country
Series kicks off during Daytona Bike Week with
the Orange Crush GNCC in De Leon Springs, FL, on
March 4 – 7, 2006. For more information log on

The AMA-sanctioned Suzuki Grand National Cross
Country series is America’s premier off-road
racing series. The 13-round series is produced
exclusively by Racer Productions. Cross-country
racing is one of the most physically demanding
sports in the world. The nearly three-hour long
GNCC races lead as many as 1800 riders through
tracks ranging from eight to twelve miles in
length. With varied terrain including hills,
trees, mud, dirt, rocks and motocross sections,
GNCC events are tests of both survival and
speed. GNCC featured sponsors include Parts
Unlimited, Moose, Maxxis, Pirelli, Wiseco,
Klotz, FMF and ITP, and riders compete for over
$2.8 million in series prizes and contingency
money. Associate sponsors include Moose Utility
Division, Scott, Acerbis, Alpinestars, Cometic,
Outerwears, Twin Air, Polisport Plastics, Thor,
Motion Pro, Hyper Wheels, Elka Suspension,
MotoTee’s, Weekend Warrior, Owens Motorsports,
Tom’s Marina Polaris, EK Chain and Laeger’s.
Media Sponsors include Dirt Rider Magazine, ATV
Sport Magazine, www.ATVRiders.com and Racer X
Illustrated. For more information log on to
