AMA Sports National Ice Racing Championships Cancelled

February 17, 2006

Due to major changes in ice conditions as a result “Blizzard Christine” Fantasy Moto is being forced to cancel the 2006 National Ice Racing Championships. Over 12 inches of snow fell in the area last night and sustained winds of 35 MPH caused shifting in the ice resulting in unsafe and very unpredictable conditions. Although the area is expecting very cold temperatures over the next several days, the snow cover is acting like insulation and improved conditions cannot be expected.

Safety is first and foremost right now, and we personally would not drive anything onto the lake. While checking conditions and attempting to plow the track for next weekend, we broke through four newly formed cracks in a matter of 100 yards this morning. Last nights storm took its toll on the ice. The potential risk is not worth putting peoples lives in danger. We will apply for the race again, regroup and start working towards the event for next year.

We are extremely disappointed and wish we could share better news but unfortunately Mother Nature has not been co-operative this winter.

Pre-registered racers will be refunded in the order their entries were received. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing.

Fantasy Moto will be promoting an AMA Pro-AM TT event at the famous Crandon International Off-road Raceway on June 10th, 2006. We hope to finally meet many of you that were making the long trip to Wisconsin when the weather is a bit warmer in June.

Sincerely,

Fantasy Moto and Harrison Promotions
