THUNDER IN THE VALLEY
ROUND 2 MARCH 26 -06
Round 2 of the Thunder in the Valley
race series dropped
the gates in the mid-afternoon sun. Scott Haydis had the crew groom
the track to perfection with their all new double
jumps and plat toes, we felt as though we were at a
stadium track. Thunder in the Valley is a
West Coast quad racing event with 11 rounds of
quad racing of dicing and at times gut wrenching
action.
With big sponsors like ALBA
racing BlingStar, IMS, Tg, Leagars and stacks of
giveaways to amateurs, this is one west coast event to show
up and race. With round 1 in the books
with Dustin Nelson in the points lead, round 2
is like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off
and that it did with some great ATV racing.
450 A CLASS
Scott Cahill is riding like a man on
a mission taking the 450 A class by storm with no
warning taking the top
podium spot and Jeremy Headlee was on the
Doppler radar in second knowing that it's along
year and storms come and go and Ed Decosta kept
the wheels on and the motor running rounding off
the top podium spot.
PRO AM CLASS
This is one of the grind out hammer down classes
out there. It's like watching 'Days of our
Life's' and 'The God Father', part 4 with names
like Capogni, Franco, and lets not forget the
brother in law, Pierce and Taylor. Keith
Taylor set the drama straight this weekend
taking over-all while Dean Pierce and Ed Franco
wound up second and third in this round.
450 C Class
450 C class is one of the bigger classes out
there and a great one to watch. Some of
the best racing for the day came out of this
class. Angel Gonzales put the wood to the
boys and girls leaving them in the weeds.
However, the real race was between Keely Woosley,
Dylan Belto and Cristy Mcuffin. This was
awesome side-by-side, bar-to-bar racing
we've seen all day and there's no doubt this class
will come down to the final round for the
championship. This
round went to Woosley, with Belto finishing in
second and Mcuffin finishing of the podium with
third.
PROS
SRF mounted Dustin Nelson took the over-all
winning with his hands tied and with rope left
over has Chris Riley had his best finish as a
pro taking second, with Roger Marks holding onto third.
