Moto-X-Country Returns to Monster Energy/Kawasaki Pro National at High Point
Third-annual motocross and GNCC hybrid race hits Memorial Day weekend

GNCC RacingMorgantown, WV – Racer Productions, producers of the Suzuki Grand National Cross Country Series and the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Pro National at High Point Raceway, announces the third-annual Moto-X-Country event will take place on Saturday, May 27th as part of the 30th Annual High Point Pro National Weekend, round two of the AMA/Toyota Motocross Championship.

Moto-X-Country is a hybrid between GNCC and motocross racing, featuring a three-mile course consisting of grass track, jumps and woods, all mixed into a 45-minute moto.

“This race is a lot fun for us, and we can’t wait to do it again,” says Racer Productions Jeff Russell, who builds the GNCC and Moto-X-Country courses. “We’ll run the traditional loop out back of High Point, with a few new twists and turns thrown in.”

Moto-X-Country has drawn both GNCC and motocross racers in its first two years, including eight-time GNCC Champion Barry Hawk, who won the pro overall at the inaugural event in 2004. Several of the area’s top motocross racers have competed in the event as well, including Pittsburgh’s Kevin Hoge, who raced in 2004 but had to skip the ’05 event so he could qualify for the Pro Motocross National across the hill.

In fact, Moto-X-Country makes the perfect compliment to the motocross practice and qualifying that will take place on the revised High Point National Motocross track on the same day. Moto-X-Country signup begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Racing begins at 9 a.m. Each race lasts 45 minutes. There is no practice. The starts will be dead engine. Classes will start on separate rows, one minute apart, and each session begins on the hour. The Pro Bike class will race at 2 p.m. Adult ATVs will race at 4 p.m.

The entry fee for each class and each 45-minute moto is just $25. Motocross racers who compete in the Kawasaki Team Green Spring National at High Point Raceway on Friday receive a $5 discount on Moto-X-Country. Their entry fee is $20.
