Chris Borich does it again
in Round 6 of the AGP Series!
Round 6 of the Atlantic Grand Prix ATV
Cross-Country Series heads to The Logan Farm.
Virgil, NY (07/9/06) – Round 6 of the
Atlantic Grand Prix took place at the Logan Farm
on July 9th at what would prove to be the the
Best Cross Country course of the year. The
course consisted of long grass tracks, open
woods trails and exciting off camber turns, and
best of all, the gate fees went directly to the
Logan Farm, which is a Thoroughbred Horse
Rehabilitation Farm that rescues sick
thoroughbred’s that would normally be
euthanized. With The sun shining bright and
beautiful and the light winds keeping everyone
cool, it was a perfect day to race. Riders
traveled from all over to race alongside big
names such as Chris Borich, Tyler Lenig, and
Stephanie Verkade.
Dale Freitas put together an excellent course
for the youth riders creating a safe yet fun
environment for our future Pro’s, Austin Findley
out of New Providence, PA put in yet another
great race by taking the win on his Kawasaki
ATV. Brandi Harmon and Jack Graham placed 2nd
and 3rd respectively.
In the Morning Race, Chris Borich once again
entered to compete in the Utility Modified Class
on his Honda Rincon to get some extra seat time
on his utility ATV for the WPSA Quad terrain
races. Chris Borich and Timothy McAndrew put on
one of the most exciting races in AGP History as
they battled for the lead into the final lap of
the race with Borich making the pass for the
lead in he final lap of race to claim the
overall win with McAndrew finishing second
overall and earning the Utility Unlimited class
win for the fourth time this year. Charles
Godshall rounded out the podium with a third
overall finish and the win in the 35+ Two and
Four Stroke class. Stefanie Verkade claimed yet
another win in the Women’s class with Quincy
Heller and Melissa Snyder rounding out the top
three.
The Afternoon race had Chris Borich back in
action on his Honda 450r, and he wasted no time
getting out front this weekend by grabbing the Holeshot and checking out on the rest of the
class. Borich was riding extremely fast,
recording lap times that were nearly 40 seconds
faster than even the previous day’s overall dirt
bike winner Scottie Rich. Borich would easily go
on to take the win with Tyler Lenig and Daniel
Martinez rounding out the top three overall.
In other racing action, Richard Cecco made
his AGP debut in the Veteran class on a Utility
Honda Rincon, and he surprised everyone by
finishing in second place behind David Bishop on
his Honda 450R.
Round 7 scheduled for July 15 and 16 at North
American Warhorse in Dunmore PA has been
Canceled due to water damage from the storms at
the end of June that dropped more than between
12” and 15" of rainfall on parts of Northeastern
Pennsylvania and New York state. However The
Race the North American Warhorse Scheduled for
August 5th and 6th is still on!
