Moreau, Patnode share top
honors at Canaan for Rock Maple Racing Can-Am
Series
CANAAN, N.H. - Canadian snocross veteran Alex
Moreau and Keene native Andrew Patnode
registered wins in their respective divisions
Sunday afternoon, as Rock Maple Racing (RMR)
made a successful debut with its new Can-Am ATV
racing series at the River's Edge Campground and
ATV Park.
Moreau, a former regular on the SCM snocross
circuit and current rider for the WSI/Harrison
Motorsports team on RMR’s Central series, made
the long haul from Clair, New Brunswick
worthwhile with a victory in the Can-Am Pro Open
final. Patnode held off his brother Daniel to
claim the Elka Suspension A-Unlimited Class
final.
On a day of even distribution among
manufacturers atop the podium, Moreau rode a
Suzuki machine to victory while Honda was
Patnode's brand of choice. Matt Smith, of
Plaistow, N.H., piloted his Yamaha to victory in
the Scott Goggles B-Unlimited class, while
another Yamaha rider, George Layton, of Averill
Park, New York, captured the Dasilva Motorsports
Plus-35 final.
Brian Daigle held off Aaron Blouin and Derek
Williams to capture the PowerMadd C-Unlimited
class final, while Nicholas Reynolds claimed the
Rick’s Motorsport C 91-450cc division final.
Smith picked up a runner-up finish to go with
his victory in B Unlimited, while Williams
posted another solid third place finish. Others
winners on Sunday at Canaan include Andrew Ruel,
of nearby Enfield, N.H., who posted wins in the
PowerMadd Production Lites and Bickford's Sport
Center 0-90cc Unlimited classes. RMR snocross
veteran Michaela Lemieux, of Bennington, VT,
rode to a solid second place finish behind Ruel
in the Production Lites final.
In Junior division action at Canaan, Jacob Jean
held off Caleb Rollins to win the 0-50cc final,
while Chris Kearney outgunned Ethan Pearson to
claim the 0-70cc final. Montana Jess, of
Westminster, Mass., earned a victory in 0-90cc
action aboard a Polaris, while Jacob Chamberland
finished second and hometown favorite Aidan
Poirier of Canaan was third.
Pearson fought back to defeat Kearney in the
0-50cc Senior division final, while Garrett Hax
rounded out a list of proud winners in the
0-90cc Senior final. Action in the QuadTerrain
classes was exciting at Canaan, with grass drag
sensation Chris Anderson taking down a pair of
victories. Anderson, of Derry, N.H., held off
Peter Gallant of Westminster, MA, for top honors
in the Can-Am Terrain 400 final, then outgunned
Canaan natives Russell Christian and Ken Hooker
Jr. to claim the Elka Suspension Terrain 600
final.
