POWERSPORTS ATV TOUR ANNOUNCES EIGHT-VENUE,
10-RACE 2007 SCHEDULE;
WILL KICK OFF SEASON IN FEBRUARY WITH PRE-SEASON
SPRING TRAINING
WHITE
BEAR LAKE, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2006) — The WPSA
PowerSports ATV Tour will run 10 races at eight
venues during the 2007 Championship Season. In
addition, the Tour will kick off 2007 with a
four-race “Spring Training 2007” schedule at
tracks in Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia and
Virginia.
Due to the overwhelming success of last
weekend’s season finale at Old Bridge Township
Raceway Park, the Tour will bookend its national
schedule with events at the New Jersey track.
The schedule features several other tracks from
the 2006 season, as well as a few additions. The
Tour will continue to race throughout the
Midwest, Southeast and Northeast.
“We’re pleased to announce our 2007 schedule,
which will showcase some of the top venues in
major markets throughout the United States,”
said PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. CEO Rick
Murphy. “This schedule features some of this
nation’s top ATV racing facilities and continues
to place the PowerSports ATV Tour in key
markets.”
The pre-season schedule represents a first in
professional ATV racing, and will allow all
racers the ability to participate in important
pre-season practice. Spring Training 2007 is
open to all racers.
“Spring Training 2007 will allow our racers,
teams, and fans the unique opportunity to
compete on championship-level tracks, without
being concerned about points,” said Murphy.
“This makes for an important addition to our
schedule, giving the fans a sneak preview of the
Tour, and our riders practice coming into the
National Tour.”
Spring Training 2007 starts Feb. 17-18 in
Stillwater, Okla., followed by events in Waldo,
Fla. March 3-4; at a yet-to-be-named venue in
Georgia March 24-25; and finishing up at
Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond,
Va. April 7-8.
The Championship Schedule starts at Raceway
Park April 14-15, followed by a double
championship weekend in Stillwater, Okla. April
28-29. The Tour returns to South Fork Dirt
Riders near Springfield, Ill. May 12-13. Daniel
Boone MX in London, Ky. will host the Tour June
2-3.
Another double championship event in the
upper Midwest is scheduled for June 16-17, ahead
of races at Virginia Motorsports Park July 7-8
and a return to Wild Cat Creek MX outside
Indianapolis July 21-22.
The season finale is scheduled for Aug. 18-19
at Raceway Park.
