2007 AMA National Ice
Racing Championships
Menasha, WI – The “2007 AMA National Ice
Racing Championships” are set to return to the
shores of Waverly Beach February 2-4, 2007.
After the Midwest suffered through the warmest
winter on record in over 30 years in 2006,
American Motorcyclist Association (AMA)
officials decided Wisconsin is still a prime
location for the largest ice race of the year.
“We don’t expect such crazy weather two years
in a row,” comments Scott Biese of Fantasy Moto,
LLC. “Although we never had the opportunity to
put studs to the ice in 2006, we learned some
invaluable lessons in dealing with weather
challenges. We’ve assembled an incredibly
experienced team to deal with any issues we
might face this season.”
“Promoting a true National Championship has
been on the radar since the day this company was
founded back in 1996. Mother Nature will not
ruin the plans this year as Fantasy Moto is on
the record with the promise to move the event
anywhere! The staff at Fantasy Moto is made up
of racers, ex-racers and hardcore enthusiasts,
that makes it easy to give participants what
they want since we live and walk everyday in
their shoes,” adds Deana Friebel, Fantasy Moto
Regional Events Coordinator.
Waverly Beach is a Mecca of activity in the
winter months and the on-shore facilities are
second to none. The small arena less than 100
feet from the shore provides a lot of
opportunities. The Powersports Show is also set
to return in conjunction with the race and will
be located indoors at Waverly Beach. The
Powersports Show will feature apparel,
accessories, new and used units, snowmobiles,
ATVs and motorcycles for both street and dirt,
making this Fantasy Moto event a multifaceted
activity for all motorsports enthusiasts.
“It’s amazing, the last time this race came
to Wisconsin was in Eagle River a few years
back. There were people from all over the
country. In my opinion ice racing is bigger than
ever. We’re glad the AMA has the foresight to
see beyond the weather difficulties of 2006,”
states Joel Janssen of Janssen Motorsports.
Fantasy Moto will offer online
pre-registration in weeks leading to the event.
The local chamber of commerce and visitors and
conventions bureau is also compiling a list of
hotels that will offer discounted rates for
event participants and fans. All details for the
race, including times, classes, prices,
directions, entertainment attractions and
lodging will be posted at
www.fantasymoto.com in the coming weeks.
