Suzuki Grand National Cross Country Series
Suzuki GNCC Series to run
ATV Youth Production 0-300cc (13-15) Class at
Final Two Rounds
New class previews 2007, will run during 10
a.m. morning race
Morgantown,
WV – Racer Productions, producers of the Suzuki
Grand National Cross Country Series, announces
they will run a new class at the final two
rounds of racing in the 2006 season. The Youth
Production class is for riders aged 13-15, on
production-based machines up to 200cc
(two-strokes) and 300cc (four-strokes). The
class mirrors the Youth Production class
utilized in the ATVA National Motocross Series
for the last few seasons.
The class will race during the 10 a.m. GNCC
morning race at the FMF Power Line Park GNCC in
St. Clairsville, Ohio on Saturday, October 7,
and will run again at 10 a.m. at the Klotz
Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, Indiana on
Saturday, October 21.
The new class provides a stepping stone for
riders in the GNCC Youth ATV Series, which races
at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings and allows for
ATVs up to 90cc. If the two rounds this season
are successful, Racer Productions will add them
into the full 2007 GNCC Series.
A few special rules apply for this class.
ATVs can not have their displacement reduced to
fit the 200cc or 300cc limits (400cc or 450cc
ATVs can not be de-bored or de-stroked in order
to race the class). Also, at these final two
rounds only, racers will be permitted to race in
the 8 a.m. Youth race and again in the new class
during the 10 a.m. race. This move allows riders
battling for points in the Youth series to also
try the new class.
All machines must follow the GNCC Production
Rule: OEM motor and matching frame combination
model required. Engine modifications, frame
reinforcements and frame modifications to permit
longer rear-wheel travel are permitted.
The AMA-sanctioned Suzuki Grand National
Cross Country series is America’s premier
off-road racing series. The 13-round series is
produced exclusively by Racer Productions.
Cross-country racing is one of the most
physically demanding sports in the world. The
nearly three-hour long GNCC races lead as many
as 1800 riders through tracks ranging from eight
to twelve miles in length. With varied terrain
including hills, woods, mud, dirt, rocks and
motocross sections, GNCC events are tests of
both survival and speed. GNCC featured sponsors
include Parts Unlimited, Moose, Maxxis, Pirelli,
Wiseco, Klotz, FMF, ITP and Tire Balls, and
riders compete for over $3 million in series
prizes and contingency money. Associate sponsors
include Moose Utility Division, Scott, Acerbis,
Alpinestars, Cometic, Outerwears, Twin Air,
Polisport Plastics, Thor, Motion Pro, Hyper
Wheels, Elka Suspension, MotoTee’s, Weekend
