16 Year Old Waters Tops National Podiums

Justin WatersJustin Waters, a high school Junior from Joseph OR, has won World Off Road Championship (WORCS) National ATV titles in two divisions, Open A and ProAm. With nine rounds of competition from January through October, Waters raced at various MX/Grand Prix tracks such as Washougal WA, Oceano Dunes CA, Lake Havasu AZ and Payette ID. WORCS is the largest ATV series on the West Coast, averaging over 500 entries per event in 2006.

In Open A, he chalked up the win with consistency, logging a top three finish in six rounds. In ProAm, his championship hunt held repeated drama, finishing out of the top ten several times but fighting back with wins in other rounds. His third place finish at the Pismo Beach CA event secured the win by 9 points over the runner up.

In both classes, his bike of choice was the Yamaha YFZ450. “This year, we put together a team of sponsors and products we believed would help us win races. We had some ups and downs and we had to fight for it, but we stuck it out and I’m really excited about how it turned out.”

For 2007, Waters has set the aggressive goal of being the first rider to capture the ProAm, Open A and Production A titles in the same year.

“Other riders have done all three, but no one has won them in the same year. I want to be the first.”

To accomplish this, Waters has already re-signed key sponsorships with Kenda Tires, Epic Suspension and Progressive Shocks, and will be adding some new names to the side of his trailer before the season kicks off in January.

Justin would like to thank all of his sponsors from 2006 and anyone else who has helped him through out the year including: Off-road.com, Kenda, Epic, Progressive, Scott USA, Yamaha, DMC Exhaust, ARC Gear, Douglas Wheels, DP Brakes, AC Racing, Regina Chain, Ricky Stator, and Tireballs.
