Rock Maple Racing announces
11-race schedule for 2007 ATV Series
HAMPSTEAD, NH (Jan. 22, 2007) — Officials
from Rock Maple Racing (RMR) have announced the
completion of an 11-race schedule for the 2007
ATV racing series. The sanctioning body, now in
its 15th season of snocross competition, ran its
inaugural season of ATV racing in the fall of
2006.
After a successful debut there in 2006, the
RMR series will open the 2007 campaign on
Sunday, May 6, at the beautiful Crow Hill Motor
Sports Park in Templeton, Massachusetts. Crow
Hill will also host the tour on Sunday,
September 9.
Round 2 will be held at a popular and
rapidly-expanding motocross facility in central
Maine. Hemond's MX Park, located in Minot,
Maine, will roar to life with the sounds of ATV
racing on May 20 and again on September 30.
Hemond's has hosted numerous major motocross
races the last few years.
Several new venues within New York state have
come on board for 2007. Beginning with Round 3
on June 10, the series will visit Twister Valley
in Fort Plain, New York. The series will venture
west to Edmeston, NY, on July 15, to compete at
Thunder Ridge. Both new venues offer a great
track for RMR ATV series competitors.
The month of August has the tour visiting two
more Empire state facilities, expanding RMR's
presence in central New York. On Aug. 5, the RMR
ATV series rolls into the friendly confines of
Savannah MX track in Savannah, New York. And on
Sunday, Aug. 26, teams will converge on the
popular Thornwood MX facility in Williamstown,
New York.
One of the highlights in RMR's inaugural
season of ATV racing was an appearance at the
immensely popular NHSA Grass Drags and Water
Crossing in Fremont, New Hampshire. Every year
since 1985, thousands of snowmobile enthusiasts
have gathered at the famed Peterson Farm to
celebrate the sport they love. Last October,
those fans also got to enjoy some exciting ATV
racing, as RMR hosted two separate one-day
points races for the inaugural series.
Rock Maple Racing is pleased to announce
their return to Fremont in 2007, with the dates
set for Oct. 6-7. These races will be Rounds 10
and 11, concluding the 2007 campaign. The NHSA
Grass Drags and Water Crossing is northern New
England's largest gathering of snowmobile/ATV
enthusiasts, and the goal is to provide fans
with more high-flying action this coming
October.
Teams in the RMR ATV series compete in two
different divisions, MX and Utility. The MX
series is for 2-wheel drive race-oriented
machines, while the Utility division is for
entry-level riders on 4-wheel drive or
utility-based machines. RMR utilizes a separate
race course for 4x4 machines where they compete
in the QuadTerrain Challenge.
Rock Maple Racing's ATV series was made
possible last year by the following
highly-valued sponsors: Can-Am ATVs by BRP, Elka
Suspension, Bickford's Sport Center in Epsom,
N.H., Dasilva Motorsports, with stores in
Hampstead and Moultonboro, N.H., PowerMadd,
Scott Goggles, Rick's Motorsport and New England
Racing Fuel. Without the support of these fine
companies, this series would not have become a
reality.
