JOE HAVEL WINS WPSA
POWERSPORTS ATV TOUR 'BUDDY CLUB' AWARD
WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (Feb. 18, 2007) — WPSA
PowerSports ATV Tour Pro-Am rider Joe Havel won
the inaugural “Buddy Program” and will receive
all of his race entries at half price during the
2007 racing season. Havel signed up eight
buddies under the unique program, which allowed
eligible riders to invite friends to register
for WPSA membership at a discounted price.
Havel (No. 2 Yamaha) won the Open Amateur
Riders’ Championship last season on the merit of
four victories and one second-place finish in
five starts during his first full year of WPSA
national competition. Havel will step up the
Pro-Am class this season with sponsors Evolution
ATV.com, Ogio, Fox Racing Shox, Walshracecraft,
Answer, XFR, Rossier Engineering, Mikes Cycle
Shop, Janssen Motorsports, Kens Sports, and
Appleton Powersports.
“I fully fund all of my racing program out of
my own pocket, so winning the Buddy Club contest
will really help me afford to race the entire
season in 2007,” said Havel, who is currently
leading both the Pro and A Class points at the
Earlywines Indoor Motocross track in Kentucky.
“I am really looking forward to running the Pro
Am class in 2007. I’ll be in the best shape of
my life coming into the season in April with all
of the training I’ve been doing this winter. I
really need to thank Evolution ATV, Carrie
Auchter, and Chris & Nikki Earlywine for signing
up with WPSA and helping me win.”
