Indiana XC Racing
Indiana XC Racing Opens with 200 Racers

The inaugural season of the Indiana XC Racing series opened this past weekend at Haspin Acres in Laurel, Indiana which located in Southeastern Indiana. Despite the very cold weather and muddy conditions nearly 200 racers showed up to prove themselves along with a few hundred spectators to take in the woods racing action. Conditions delayed the start of races a little to allow racers time to check out the track and get back in time for the start.

When the racing started some of the racers looked to be in top form already this early in the season. The PRO class saw a great 5 way battle between Brent Howell, Todd Demaree, Nate Beyers, Max Smith and Justin Finley. Brent Howell ended up with the victory at the end of the day. Todd Demaree and Justin Finley were both racing with injuries suffered before the event. With muddy conditions making for a level playing field racers either had a good day or a really long race. One of the big surprises of the day came from the C Class where Brandon Whistler put on a show and finished 7th in the overall standings ahead of the entire A and B classes.

Even with the cold and muddy conditions the racers were happy to be racing again and was looking forward to the rest of the IXCR schedule. Check out www.IXCR.com for the complete results and information on the event.
