ATVA MX National Round 1 Mill Creek MX Park in Pell City Alabama
Youth Production 13-15

Saturday Moto 1:
The Youth Production Class this year has a lot of new faces. Mark Madl and Jeff Rastrelli from Florida are two very talented young riders for this year’s ATVA MX National. Neal McGrath is back this year and faster than ever. Neal won second overall last year missing the overall win by two points. Neal will be grinding the axe this season to see if he can take home the Youth Production Championship. Neal is a very talented rider. He has been practicing all winter long. Let’s see how he does this season.

The gate drops and up over the hill is # 43 Yasmin Adams, getting the holeshot with Neal McGrath right next to him not giving Adams any slack. McGrath passes #43 to take the lead, and boy does he take the lead. Jeff Rastrelli is in the second spot. Jeff is another talented rider. He raced in the 90cc Mod class last year taking second place overall. He also raced 90cc Production Sr. last year taking second overall in that class.

Neal McGrath is leading the way around the track. Meanwhile, Mark Madl moves up fast to get into the fourth place spot. This is a promising young rider throwing in some freestyle moves over the big jumps making it look like it is so easy to do. Mark Madl has passed making it to the three spot now. McGrath created such a gap in between him and the second place rider,Jeff Rastrelli, that it allowed him to take the win in Moto 1. Mark Madl is charging up strong to Jeff Rastrelli going in to the corner before the finish line jump. Mark Madl goes up over the alligator corner and down the side putting him back on the track to finish sixth, losing his third position.

Sunday Moto 2
McGrath grabbed the holeshot today; rider #43 is right there in second, but unless McGrath has a problem on the track, I don’t think anyone will be passing him to grab that first place from him. Coming down the hill to the double, a quad flips in the pack. Brandon Rhondes, #33, gets up and tries to move fast off the track and out of the way. As Rhondes gets to the edge of the track, he holds his arm and sits down while medics come to his aid. Mark Madl in fourth spot does better in this second moto, still throwing in that freestyle as he jumps the step up. Jeff Rastrelli is in second; Mark Madl moves to third and closes the gap on Jeff Rastrelli. Josh West is in fourth, and Cameron Premo is in fifth. Brandon Rhondes, # 33, has gotten back on the racetrack after his spill in the start.

Neal McGrath still pulls away from the pack, while rider #161 gets bumped to sixth by #282 Andrew Spence. #86 was being shadowed by #151 rider, Johnney Adams. #86 does a fine job holding his spot, while Jeff Rastrelli comes around the alligator corner on two wheels, makes some good lap time, and Mark Madl moves up on Rastrelli. However, #28 holds it to the finish for second. McGrath, #30, takes the holeshot leaving a big gap between him and the pack, leading the whole race to take the win. Mark Madl pulls into the third spot after bad luck in moto 1. Madl takes sixth in Saturday’s race. Mark Madl, #41, gets overall fourth place, giving Josh West, #5, overall third, and #282, Andrew Spence is fifth. These are the top five Youth production riders for the ATVA MX National Round one.
