Torrance,
Calif.—American Honda has won the Manufacturers
Cup in the 2007 AMA Pro ATV National MX Series. The award
represents the strength of a manufacturer’s efforts in the AMA’s
professional ATV racing program.
“For Honda to wrap up the Manufacturers Cup
with two races left shows their dedication to winning races,” said AMA Pro
ATV Series Manager Harv Whipple. “Not only races but championships also, as
fellow Honda riders Joe Byrd and Jeremy Lawson are the only two competitors
who mathematically have a chance at winning the championship in our inaugural
season.” Whipple added that the Manufacturers Cup will be presented at
the AMA Pro Racing awards banquet in Las Vegas later this year.
“It is an honor to win the Manufacturers
Cup,” said Honda Press Manager Jon Row. “Honda’s TRX450R is an incredible racing
machine and both Joe and Jeremy have done a fantastic job for Honda
ATV Racing this year. I want to thank every racer who competes on the TRX450R
and especially our Team Manager Bruce Ogilvie, who has led Honda’s
effort to become the dominant force in ATV racing.”
According to AMA rules, points for the AMA
Pro ATV National MX Series Manufacturers Cup are awarded throughout the
season to the highest finishing rider on a particular brand of ATV
for each moto. Joe Byrd, Jeremy Lawson and John Natalie were among the
Honda Red Riders who contributed points towards the prestigious
award. For more information, visit
