IOPD British Quad-X
Championship Pro Class Round 4
1st & 2nd for ATV World Yamaha at
Holsworthy
ATV World Yamaha riders John Mitchell and
Paul Holmes enjoyed a fantastic round 4 of the
IOPD British Quad-X Championship on the 4th
August at Holsworthy in Devon. Qualifying in
second place, John suffered from a rear tyre
puncture in race one but kept an awesome pace to
finish in fifth place. In the second race, John
took the lead and won with 12 seconds to spare!
Paul Holmes took fifth in qualifying and took
off in race one at an incredible pace, taking
the fastest lap. Paul was riding in spectacular
fashion as he made his way to a third place
finish. The second race had a fast pace for the
front runners and Paul showed true commitment to
finish again in third place.
John won overall with Paul coming second.
Both riding on the ATV World Yamaha YFZ450. John
had been using the new factory Elka suspension
on his bike and commented afterwards: “They
worked perfectly as soon as we put them on and
they look much tricker than the standard Elka
shocks. The new adjuster on the shocks made a
good improvement on absorbing bumps on the
initial part of the shocks stroke.”
