First-time
Participation Was Key to Success
ATV Mini Quad Contingency Showcase

The welcome banner listed every sponsor.

The XTreme Pit Bike was big |
Morgantown, WV – The first-ever Mini Quad
Contingency Showcase awarded almost 100 percent
of participants in the 2007 ATV Dirt Days held
at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Actually, “Only 3
children that were registered did not show up,”
said Frieda Rozelle, a coordinator of the
program. The purpose was to reward mini quad
racers, the future of the sport, with special
contingency prizes and awards.
“I think it went great,” said Bobbie Havert,
another coordinator of the program. “The kids
seemed happy with everything that they got. It
was long, but we had so many items; there was a
lot of stuff. I think we’re kind of waiting on
feedback; we had talked about it with other
parents to see what they thought, I think that
they wanted to do something [next year]. Yeah,
it was fun.”
Wolfpack Racing assisted with event T-shirts,
the brand new DRR Mini Quad priced at $2,500,
with the Xtreme Pit Bike over $2,100 and the
Maximum RPM gift certificates totaled $2,200.
“That was just three of the biggies,” Frieda
said. “We’re still trying to get a total.
“I think [the event] went fantastic,” she
continued. “Those youth sat on those bleachers
so peaceful; they did so good. I was totally
blown away; the response to this was unreal. We
were going to try to get all the numbers. I do
not have a total yet; there were just so many
items."
The amount of donations surprised the first-time
event, and next year is already in the planning
stages. “There were things coming in at
Loretta’s from people that didn’t confirm, but
there were packages waiting for us," Frieda
said. "That was a really big surprise. A lot of
people told us: ‘If you would have got to me
earlier, I would have done a whole lot more,’
and ‘Keep us in mind for next year.’ We already
have people telling us things that they will
donate next year. I think we had a good turnout;
I think it’s just going to get better. It was
all for the youth. There are some things we’ve
already been talking about to make it faster and
better; it was just great; we are so happy.

DRR's contribution was huge!

Youth gathered on the bleachers while
numbers were called.

Wolfpack Racing provided the Loretta
Lynn's Youth Quad National T-shirts . |
“We were all so worn out, but it was worth every
bit of it to see the look on their faces. A big
thanks to everyone and how wonderful those kids
were. I know it was hot—the heat was terrible.
The main thing is just to make sure we thank
everyone, and all the kids, I was so proud of
every one of those children there. And I want to
personally thank all of the companies that
donated, because we couldn’t have done it
without them, and Racer Productions for
everything.”
“Just look forward to next year; you think the
prizes were good this year, they’re going to be
double the next!”
The winner of the Xtreme pit bike was Jonny Loos,
who took third in 70 Production CVT (6-11) with
a 5-3. The DDR mini quad winner was Bobby
Slevnik of the 90 Production Sr (12-15) class.
Winners are encouraged to send thank-you notes,
