KTM’s Tim Farr Wins at
Tri-City EDT to Wrap up the Championship
Franklin, PA - KTM’s Tim Farr extended his
win streak with his fifth win in a row at round
7 of the ATVA Extreme Dirt Track Series at the
Tri-City Speedway this past weekend.
Tim Farr, reigning Pro ATV Champion, received
the last pick on the line for his heat race.
Farr decided to start on the far inside from
which he was able to pull out into fourth
position from the start. He quickly made a
pass in the sweeper for third. The
Tri-City Speedway track included two technical
option lanes which fed the riders into the
infield for several high-speed pass options.
On the next lap, Farr took one of the option
lanes and was able to steal second position.
He then set his sights on leader Aaron Reisig
but was unable to make the pass before time ran
out. Farr finished second in his heat.
With the weather report calling for rain
showers the “Pro Show” was moved forward in an
attempt to beat the arrival of the rain.
As Farr headed to the staging area for his main
event, the rain began to fall causing a slight
delay.
As the lights turned green Farr came out
third around the first turn following closely
behind Darin Ogden and Bryon Partee. As
the light rain continued to fall on the track
Farr continued to follow behind Partee until he
made a solid pass coming out of the first option
lane. Meanwhile, Ogden had built up quite
a lead with a gap that the crowd thought might
be too hard to overcome. Farr didn’t give
up hope and continued to charge on the wet soil.
To everyone’s surprise Farr cut Ogden’s lead in
half after one lap. On the following lap,
Farr moved up on Ogden’s rear bumper. The
two remained close as Farr continued to pressure
Ogden. With five laps remaining, Farr took
the option lane coming out of turn two and made
his move. The two were side by side as the
lanes narrowed back into one, but Farr was able
to hold on the gas longer and grabbed the inside
line to take over the lead. In the
remaining laps Farr stretched out his lead to
take home the win and his second Pro ATV title
in two weeks.
This win secured the ATVA EDT Championship
one round early for Farr. Congratulations
to Farr and KTM for a successful season and
their second championship of the year aboard the
new KTM Sport ATV!
