The inaugural 2007 Indiana XC Racing
officially came to an end with the year end
banquet this weekend. Around 160 racers and
spouses were on hand to receive various awards
and prizes. National Guard sponsored GNCC pro
William Yokley was in attendance to show his
support for the series. William also spoke to
the crowd about racing, sponsors and his
thoughts on the series. William ended by taking
a few questions from the crowd with one getting
a cheer from the crowd when he confirmed he
would be on a non factory supported Honda this
year. After a brief introduction of the IXCR
staff the door prizes and awards started to be
handed out. Youth riders were up first with two
standout racers, Matthew Harris and Derrik Allen
taking top honors in their classes along with
receiving “rising star” awards. Bike awards were
up next with Vet bike class racer Jeff Mote
taking the overall #1 plate just head of Bruce
Stapleton and Austin Witt. Before quad awards
were handed out a variety of awards were given
including the “Hard luck” award given to Jeff
Rawlings for his “never give up” attitude even
after only finishing a few races of the entire
schedule. Racers Choice awards were voted on by
racers in attendance and went to Todd Demaree
for quads and Derrik Allen for bikes. With quads
having the most in attendance the awards took a
little longer to present. Standouts were Todd
Demaree winning the tight Pro class battle along
with edging out Nate Beyers for the overall.
Bruce Marshall’s consistent finishes put him at
top of the Vet class and 3rd overall. Jeff
Seelig collected his awards for winning the “C”
16-25 class with an impressive showing by
winning all 6 rounds he entered with Chris
Bradshaw clawing his way into 2nd place.
In between awards the IXCR staff thanked all
the 2007 sponsors including: ATVriders.com,
Three One Seven Graphics, Spider Grips, Cd and
Son concrete, Yamaha, Fatheadz.com and Badlands.
