Frankfort, KY, (February 26, 2008) -- The National Guard jumps into the ATV racing world in a bigger way in 2008 by becoming the Title Sponsor of Yokley Racing with high-profile pro ATV off-road racer William Yokley and up-and-coming Pro-Am racer Mark Notman for the 2008 racing season.

Tompkinsville Kentucky’s William Yokley (www.yokleyracing.com) has been competing at the top level in the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC) (www.gnccracing.com) for many years.  Yokley is a multi-time overall winner in the XC1 Pro Division in the GNCC Series, and has won the prestigious Baja 1000 Overall in the Pro ATV Class.  William enjoys a tremendous fan following, and has been featured in national broadcast coverage of GNCC events on the Versus Network, as well as ESPN, SPEED Channel and ABC.  “I’m really excited and proud that the National Guard decided to become the Title Sponsor this year, we worked together last year and it has been an excellent partnership,” said Yokley, “It is a privilege and an honor to represent such a great group of soldiers.”

Yokley, age 30, started riding at the age of 9; he enjoyed and respected all types of riding and racing, but focused mostly on motocross.  At the age of 15, he started running in the GNCC events, the premier and largest off-road racing series in the United States.  At the age of 18, he ran his first desert racing event, the Baja 1000.

With a twenty one year career under his belt, pro class for the last eleven years, William is concentrating mainly on the 13 event GNCC series, with a few selected Mid-South, Florida, and desert events planned when possible.  William will be making appearances with the National Guard (www.1800goguard.com) throughout 2008 at military bases, fairs, and jamborees.

Twenty-one year old Mark Notman from Hubbard Ohio is the second member of Yokley Racing.  Mark began racing at the age of 5, and competes in ATV off-road events in Ohio and the Midwest.  At age 15, he began competing in the GNCC Series in the amateur classes.  In 2008, Mark will contest the Pro-Am Division in the GNCC Series.  “This is a great opportunity for me to race on one of the most professional and respected teams in ATV racing, and to be sponsored by the National Guard makes it even better,” said Notman.

COL Rondal Turner, the Chief of Staff of the KY Army National Guard said, “We are happy to have William and Mark as members of the National Guard ATV Racing Team, it’s a great fit for us as we highlight the benefits available for young men and women to become members of the National Guard family.”

Yokley Racing Team Sponsors are The Army National Guard, Rocky Mountain ATV, Polaris Industries, ITP Tires, Elka Suspension, Roll Design, HMF Exhaust Systems, IMS/Roll, Tire Balls, Andrews Cycle, Douglas Wheel Technology, Baldwin Motorsports, CGR, O’Neal Clothing, Panolin Lubricants, IMS, Hinson, 317 Graphics, Intense Fabrication & Design, Tsubaki Chains, Hardkor, Shoei Helmets, Axcaliber Axles, Streamline and Powermadd.
