Polaris/Lone Star/Eichner Racing Team Celebrate
More than Easter at WORCS Round 3

Doug Eichner at WORCS Round 3 |
The Polaris/Lone Star/Eichner Racing Team
enjoyed a warm Easter weekend and an
awesome team performance at WORCS Round 3, held
March 21-23, 2008, at Lake Havasu, Arizona.
The relaxed, but always-focused and
determined ATV racing super-star, Doug Eichner
added two Pro wins to his credit, the first in
Pro Production with a smooth ride over a rough
and demanding course which Eichner used to test
his machine for the Pro Main Event.
The Pro Main saw 24 highly-competitive machines
and athletes all vying for the chance to claim
victory. Eichner launched his Polaris
Outlaw 525 S off the start like a bullet and
grabbed the holeshot like he meant business. He
railed through the first corner than sailed over
the jumps and sped away on his wicked-fast
Outlaw 525 S complete with FOX Racing Shox,
enhanced performance from Yoshimura R&D of
America Inc. and tires by MAXXIS, and never
looked back taking the checkered flag to the
thrill of his entire team.
Pro team rider John Shafe on his Polaris Outlaw
450 MXR followed Eichner in hot pursuit setting
a blistering pace and capably holding off the
competition for several laps. The Polaris
Outlaws looked fierce running 1 and 2 but Shafe,
who had been under the weather the night before,
finally fell victim to his illness. He finished
seventh with a commendable effort.
No stranger to winning, Angela Butler put her
Outlaw 450 MXR out front in the Women's A class
and easily demonstrated why she carries the
points lead in this division at WORCS.
Butler also took on the challenge of the Pro-Am
division where she claimed a seventh place
finish out of 21 entries.
Ten-year-old, youth rider and four-time National
Champion, Caide Hunt rode her Outlaw 90 MXR with
stock motor and suspension to a sixth-place
finish out of the 27 bike line-up in the 8-15
year old class and a seventh-place finish in the
71-90cc Mod class out of a field of 18.
The team is anxious to get this tough cutie in
full race order for WORCS round 4.
“Polaris is very excited about the performance
of the team this WORCS round,” said Eric Nault,
Race Team Manager for Polaris. “Eichner’s two
Pro wins to Butler’s continuing domination of
the Womens class further proves the Outlaws’
prowess on the track.”
WORCS Havasu witnessed a record number of Side
by Sides in the Rhino Mod class where 19
machines lined up for the start. With
extremely-modified machines on the course, this
race gave spectators a thrill as Eichner and his
co-pilot, Polaris Engineer, Kevin McNutt, put on
the best Side by Side race WORCS has seen to
date in the Polaris RANGER RZR, leading most of
the 45-minute race. Eichner and Mc Nutt
fell victim to another unit that blocked their
path on the final lap and settled for a fourth
place finish. Eichner's Polaris RANGER
RZR sports FOX Racing Shox, arms and bumpers and
roll cage by Lone Star Racing, exhaust system by
Yoshimura, Fullbore Innovations body with seats,
harness and nets by MasterCraft. "Eichner
sure impressed me," stated Kevin McNutt, but the
smile on Kevin's face said it all. Eichner
remains the points leader in the WORCS Rhino Mod
SxS division.
"I'm thrilled to have put the Outlaw back on top
of the Pro podium at WORCS," stated Eichner.
“But it is the team effort and personal
contributions of each team member, sponsor
support and Polaris Engineering team that is the
most commendable part of the weekend.
And, I can't thank WORCS enough for putting on a
top-notch national competition."
